Hey John I will definitely forward your request to the Product Team.

Just to clarify a bit more, it isn’t so much about the urgency, but more of the work required from different teams. That is what we are doing right now. We follow a structured workflow to pull a feature into the software pipeline. This involves discovering the Pros and Cons from competitors, researching from customer interviews, designing and then when all these are finalized, it will be moved to development.

We prioritise each feature based on the number of user requests, impact on current customer base, usability, market value etc. We are already looking into it, but as we have informed you, the timeline isn’t available for us to share. I do not want to promise something that we can’t deliver on time, and would rather be happy to announce timelines or apps as they are ready.

Have a nice day. Stay safe.

Rather than a specific product, I would like to see general support for the ANT+ Lighting profile. With this support, the Karoo would support both the Garmin lights (UT800 and the light part of the RTL51x radars) as well as the Cycliq Fly devices.

Integration would be really nice, just as autumn is coming (to Germany) now, and I need to go with lights on the bike.

Any news on UT800 integration? Because my Lezyne light broke down, I bought myself the Varia TFL515 rear light and UT800 frontlight, but actually forgot that it's not supported yet by the Karoo.

FYI: you could also just use a remote like the bontrager one... it's actually a lot faster to control your lights through it than a bike computer (you actually don't even need a computer!)

Agree that ANT+ light control would be very desirable

Just switched from a Garmin Edge 830 to Karoo 2 and disappointed to see this isn't supported. Are there any plans to support in the near future?

Partial Varia support is partial success. Radar 4+ EXCEPT for light control.

Is the ANT+ Lighting protocol hard to implement?

I also have a RTL515 and UT800.  Just got my K2 yesterday and sold my Garmin Edge.  The light network was nice and convenient when transitioning from day to dusk to dark.  I have recently learned that both the RTL515 and UT800 have buttons on them that let one put them into different solid or flashing modes, and this is a fine short-term solution when the alternative is not using a K2.

And I'd also be happy if ANT+ Light would be supported. This feature would be awesome.

This is fabulous news! Can't wait to see how's it's implemented.

For the record the implementation on the K2 will not include changing brightness levels based on ambient lighting conditions like Garmins do. This is because for some ridiculous reason (cost cutting?) the K2 does not have an ambient light sensor...

as if it worked properly 🙄 on my edge unit, I switched auto brightness off (had to put black tape over the light sensor 😂) because my lights would switch to the lowest setting each time I pass under a lamp post... for some reason, on my (nightly) commute, lampposts are often placed right before an intersection or pothole, which themselves are not lit! Hence, the auto thing was actually rather dangerous as it would be dark all of a sudden at the worst moment...

as an alternative, I found out controlling manually with a remote (Bontrager Transmitr) works beautifully with all Ant+ lights, and I can lower my beam when someone comes in front of me so I don't blind them (yeah, many insult me if I don't, guess my lights are a bit strong 😅), put flash mode when coming from behind pedestrians (more efficient than using a bell for some reason) and even control my lights when I don't have the head unit on.

Would love this feature as well. Might be the difference between purchasing Garmin or hammerhead.
