Route indicator in new software
AnsweredAs one of the first users of the Karoo I really appreciate the progress that has been made on the software. Including the route indicator.
However I would like to have two (or three?) modifications on it.
1. The text that shows the distance is so small that when going 30+ it is impossible to read (at 50+). Please make it bigger. As big as the name of the road (which is at no interest to me)
2. Do not show: Go Straight, on every junction. There are a lot of junctions here and 70% of the time my datafields are blocked
3. Make the progress-bar in higher contrast
I am unsure when the route indication shows up. It seems at 1km and two more times? I do not need it all the time because it is blocking all my datafields. Only when there is a real exit.

Hi Ronald, Thank you for sharing your feedback and experience with us. You will see a huge improvements on the TBT banner design in the upcoming software updates. Most of the modifications you shared here will be addressed in this update. The option to turn off the TBT banner will also be available in the coming update.

Hari,
It is great to hear that you guys are working on the improvements. Since you are already working on a major update, I'd like to share some opinions for your consideration:
Consider a "theme" option for user to choose what they prefer, the theme would include fonts, colors and sounds, similar to Windows theme. If that's a lot of work, then follow some essential rules to design a theme that most suitable for cycling. Ultimately this is not a phone, it is a bike computer, so what matters most is the usability while you are on the bike speeding. Make fonts on riding pages as big as possible, make colors high contrast, only color the most useful information, sounds need to be distinguishable and standout, the sound is to make you stay alert, currently they are all very "soft" and similar. This is a great device with so much potential to make it a winner, I just feel you need to get feedbacks from lots of serious cyclists to design the architect. I am happy to discuss in details if you guys prefer.
Thanks,
