Hey Brandon. We have completely redesigned the mounting system. So, a GoPro adapter will not be available anytime soon. Your best option would be to get a quarter-turn mount with a GoPro slot and use the adapter. Just to clarify, it will not be in the box. The adapter will be available for purchase when we start taking final orders for the Karoo 2.

Thank you for the quick response! And, I appreciate the clarification re: the adapter.  Do you know if the pricing has been set for the adapter, and if it is possible to ship with the unit when our orders ship? My concern would be paying for shipping for a relatively low-cost item in addition to the Karoo 2.

Also really interested in this as I use my K1 on a mountain bike with 35mm diam bars. As it stands I won't be able to use the K2 as the Hammerhead mount is only available in 31.8mm diameter. Will need the adapter as soon as I get the K2.

Philip, I believe the mount will be available to order when you place the final payment for the karoo

@Franklin, when reading your reply, it is clear to me that you think of people using the GoPro device at the top side of the mount. Most of the people asking for this still want to use their Karoo 2 on the top side of the mount, but want to be able to attach a GoPro mountable device, like the camera itself or a front light. For instance:

So asking again, can you make the Karoo 2 mount compatible for a GoPro mount on the *bottom* side?

I am also looking for a solution for this configuration - Karoo 2 on the top side, Go Pro or Light on the bottom side. Are there any solutions?

Yes, definitely. I just modified my Karoo 2 mount to do exactly this.

I've fitted the K-Edge GoPro Combo Mount on the underside of the Karoo 2 mount using some A4 stainless steel M3 x 12 mm countersunk allen screws with a hex head. The screws that are supplied with the K-Edge GoPro Combo mount - and the Karoo 2 mount are too short.

I just removed the screws that are supplied with the Karoo 2 mount, applied a little Loctite Threadlock to the threads of the new screws, and mounted the K-Edge GoPro mount to the underside of the Karoo 2 mount.

Here's a couple of photos showing my Lezyne Macro Drive 1100XL fitted:

You can buy the Lezyne GoPro mount adapters online to modify the rubbish rubber mount this light comes supplied with.

    Hope this helps,

    Steve

I wrote about this here: https://support.hammerhead.io/hc/en-us/community/posts/1260801554549-No-Garmin-adapter-necessary-with-K-Edge

This was my work around! Using a K-edge.

Hey guys, I also used the mentioned K-edge GoPro mount and their screws.  Here are some pics with the Bontrager Ion 200RT.  Connected to the GoPro mount is the Bontrager Blndr Universal Ion Mount (from REI part number 1529920001 $10).   I really like this setup.  I used to have the light mounted to the bar just next to the stem, but I never had a computer out front before and it really blocked the light in that location.  So overall, very happy with the light in the new spot!

Whilst this appears to work reasonably well, the brittle plastic foot - and threaded metal inserts - becomes the primary load bearing component in this setup. You're effectively using the foot to sling a heavy light or camera underneath. I don't believe the foot is manufactured from strong enough plastic to support a heavy front light or camera long term and we are already starting to see some mounts fail around the threaded metal inserts. When you factor in the vibrations from the road and trail, this solution is not going to last very long.

Yes, it works for now, but I'm not sure that this is a viable long-term option. I always remove my light when not required.

What's nice about the K-Edge mounts, is that they have M3 threaded holes at 12, 3, 6, and 9 o'clock positions. You can screw the GoPro Combo adapter directly into the alloy mount, rather than into the weakest point of the Hammerhead mount.

Fair enough, the material may be the weak link... time will tell.  I do note that the foot is sold by the light manufacturer, Bontrager, so maybe it is the intended use.  Perhaps gravel or mountain bike use would force the issue, but this is a road-only scenario for me.  At any rate, I am very happy with the position of the light (which I never take off or turn off when riding!)
