    Hey Håkan,

We are certainly looking into this. The product team is working on improving the overall experience by tying in bikes and Auto-pause settings to Profiles.

We prioritise each feature based on the number of user requests, impact on current customer base, usability, market value etc. We are already looking into it, but the timeline isn’t available for us to share. I do not want to promise something that we can’t deliver on time, and would rather be happy to announce timelines or apps as they are ready.

    Quick answer! I like that!
I’m glad we are on the same path here. I’m looking forward to it making the Karoo even better. Hope that more users find this proposal useful and give kudos to it.

I second Håkan’s point. Indoor should automatically turn gps off. A link of profiles and bikes seems logical.

I really appreciate Hammerheads efforts to make Karoo the best computer out there. But I think their recent updates changes things out in the margins. The request above should really make a big difference for any user. Keep changing the way exercises are saved will soon make things more confusing than it helps. Please give us a road plan for implementing more useful setting into profiles.

Hi team, any update on this? Doing a lot of indoor & outdoor riding and it's annoying to keep thinking about this thing, which could easily be solved by just adding enabling/disabling GPS per profile.

Yes, some profile features would be great for things like auto-pause not stopping the recording indoors as well as not needing GPS but I found with my Garmin if GPS wasn't on indoors the time would be all messed up not sure if there would be a similar issue with this device but with the other, it was a huge pain the date and time being wrong when riding indoors during the winter months.

    +1 to profile addition request

@Debra - the Karoo has an internal clock. While it will re-calibrate using network (or GPS) time, it should be perfectly capable of keeping track of time, as long as the battery doesn't run totally out.

@davide - yes, I know I was saying I would experience issues with my other device not the karoo but it always has gps on tho.

You can switch GPS off on the Karoo - it won't affect its ability to keep time...

    9 months have past.

Is there any news about this? I've been missing some outdoor rides because I shut the GPS off on a indoor excercise the day before.

I recommended a Karoo 2 the other day to a former Garmin user. One of his questions was about profiles and on that part, the Karoo comes short.

Auto Pause/GPS and similar would be really nice if the profile saved that setting. About 75% of my riding is on the trainer in the basement anymore so I have a "Zwift" profile and then a couple of profiles for training, racing, etc. I could also see having specific profiles per depending on the various sensors that each bike may have. i.e. Road bike 1 with PM 1, Track bike with PM2, MTB 1 with cadence sensor, etc.

+1000 to the indoor profile = GPS off capability.

Without it, not only do you have to fiddle with turning GPS on or off (yes, this is a pain), the updates sync'd to Strava are missing a fair amount of info...

Not to mention, it's a pretty obvious Garmin feature comparison point.

Also... not sure how this question is considered "Answered" - it is not!

We've seen quite a few people comment on this now, any update on this? With the CLIMBER feature now available this is my last big bug bear...

Ok, it was the second last bug bear. Just noticed you released the 'ride discard' feature, so the option to automatically turn off GPS when a certain (indoor) profile is selected is really the last one. Pretty please?

    Hey Barry,

We certainly have this feature planned out on our roadmap for implementation.

We are working on optimizing the core architecture of the software before we dive into this feature. However, I can confident you will see this feature on the Karoo in the next couple of months :)

It seems to me that "a couple of months" now have past since last Hammerhead respons in this thread.

I curiously read the mail with updates but every time I get a little disappointed.
It would really fill the base of functions you would expect on a bike computer.

    Any updates about this?
