Smart zoom levels

Loving the Karoo 2 so far, great job. I've taken it hiking and mountain biking so far, and hopefully will take it on the road soon. This post comes from my experiences on the mountain bike and while hiking, but I think it will apply to the road as well.
Similar to this post. But now that zoom levels are implemented on the map page I'd like to offer the following suggestion.
Currently, when pressing the zoom level button the map switches between the whole route, 1000 ft scale, and 500 ft scale. It would be great if the most zoomed in level returned to the last user-set zoom level, if more zoomed in.
For example, if a user sets the zoom level manually to 100 ft, the zoom button should cycle between whole route, 1000 ft scale, and 100 ft scale. Or maybe add an extra level if the zoom level is more zoomed in than 500 ft.

Hi Americo, Glad to hear that you are enjoying your experience with Karoo 2. I see that you have some suggestions with regards to the existing zoom level management on Karoo 2. I would like to forward this to the Product team to understand their views about this. Before doing so, could you please let us know the disadvantages of the existing zoom levels and what are the issue you are facing with the current design?

Hi Hari. Absolutely. When navigating tricky trails or intersections, it is useful to set the zoom level to most zoomed-in (or a zoom level greater than 500 ft). At the same time, it is useful to press the zoom button to see the whole route, and press the zoom button again to see the upcoming section of the route at a high level. If I press the zoom button once more, the map will zoom to 500 ft.
The disadvantage of this is that the user will then have to zoom in manually to their desired zoom level whenever they want to toggle through zoom levels. The issue is that that limits the usefulness of the zoom button, as it is pretty much "resetting" your map view every time, rather than returning to the starting point.

I've also had a desired improvement (with Karoo 1 & 2). When going to the map screen, I would like to set the zoom level as well. I always zoom out after switching to the map the first time and it would be helpful if I could have set the desired initial zoom level rather than having to pinch to zoom on every ride as the first thing I do looking at the map. It's especially a pain when using gloves or trying to use the buttons to zoom
