Feature request: Live search over map on route

Using map on the karoo is a smooth and easy to do thing, but sometimes it is difficult to see the exact location where you want to go only doing zoom and moving around the map, specially where you don't know the zone you are riding... I don't know why there is no option to search for a point on the map by name, street, city, poi.... and let the user select the type of road, paved or unpaved to reach for it, without having to do a new route to navigate.

I know I have done other suggestions about this or similar features, but I think this is a must have feature, offline, online or both.

  Hey Ruben. We do have a variation of what you are requesting. You can long-press on a location in the map(within 100 miles.) view while riding to create a route to that destination. Internet connection is not required to do this and you can create an offline route. Please see: Offline Route to Destination.

  However, the option to select the road type on the unit is currently not available. We do expect to have it sometime in the future.

  I know this option is currently available, I'm using it, but sometimes is difficult to find some places searching visually over the map, I think a search by text function with this implementation would be very interesting and useful. BR.

  Hey Ruben. Currently, we do not have the text option available for the search of the destination. However, I would like to inform you that we are working on the development of the route management and certainly we will evolve with something that would suffice your search. At the moment, we have the easy zoom and tap option on the Karoo. With this, you can see the shortest route to the destination (that you tapped on the unit).

  I agree - the ability to search POIs (stored on the phone) would be extremely useful.

  I think this request is similar to the one to search from a list of POIs. Currently, you have to pan the map to locate a POI, and the long press on it, which is far from ideal.

  I would love to see a POI app - similar to the Routes app - that lets me view and navigate to previously stored POIs. This is already covered in another feature request somewhere. Postcode search (UK) would be nice. As would the ability to navigate to other address formats (what3words or co-ordinates, for example).

  Sometimes, I just want to navigate to a stored POI rather than follow a set route. I don't always want to take the same route to that POI and appreciate the freedom the Karoo gives me with its fast rerouting to a given point.

  Please give stored POIs the love they deserve, because this will make Karoo so much more powerful.
