Group Track extension?

That would be fun to code. Thanks to the map features Hammerhead has added to the SDK a few months ago, the last known position of other riders can be displayed on the map similar to how the karoo strava live segment feature does it. I guess a latency of 10-30 seconds would be achievable. If a route is loaded, the current position could be extrapolated based on the last known speed so that it looks "real-time". But I don't know how Garmin does it, it'd probably be best to copy what works there.
Unfortunately, none of my cycling friends use a Karoo, so I have no interest in implementing such an extension, but it would be cool to have. I hope someone else builds one.

About this subject, an smartphone maps app I use a lot does this: Osmand with its plugin "Tracker", that is a telegram client that shares and gets location for other people, and put a pin with each friend' shared location on the map. It's also opensource, you can find it looking for "osmand-telegram". Maybe any of the "K-developers" here wants to take any idea from this project.

I have developed Group Ride for Karoo. It supports up to 16 members per group (15 riders + coach, who can access all the rider's data including speed, power, cadence, hr and of course position on the map in the web browser with refresh rate 2-60s). Of course every rider sees all the others on the map within Karoo.Β
I will publish it here on the forum soon for community tests.
