I think theres an issue with the colours used on the maps. Routes, climbs, heatmaps, passive segments, active segments all have their own colours, but the heatmaps, passive and active segments are too similar, so you can't pick them apart. The layering order is... I don't know, tricky to make it useful at times. At least the route has chevrons sticking out the side to help. Maybe the active segment has orange chevrons? Change the underlying colour of the heatmap. If you're on multiple segments, perhaps the ability to swipe one away and temporarily remove it from the map would be useful? Basic colour changes would be most useful for a quick fix in the meantime.

  Here you go. 
  I'm on a climb at this point, so there is a blue line underneath all that.
  Heatmap is on, and there are some starred segments, but pretty hard to pick them apart. 
  Different colour heatmap would help.
  Layer order is another thing to consider - or have orange chevrons on say, active segments so you can follow it (I'm in a busy city so there are often overlapping segments and you can't tell which one is which)

  Thanks. I thought I had answered, but it got lost somehow. Anyway, I see the issue, though I have never experienced this myself (despite being on the map screen 90% of the time). I guess having a few layers for this would be nice (Wahoo recently introduced this). However, this should not be too fine-grained, because this may render the usability equally off.
