I agree, please allow to disable lap functionality, I accidentally press a button and lap gets recorded.

Same here, happens to me regularly. Usually when I press one of the right buttons I accidentally press the lap button.

    Good idea.

Maybe implementing the auto-lap feature will remove this as an (accidental) button press?

If we can't disable the functionality can't we be given a way to delete laps that were created by mistake?

Totally agree.  I hate how the lap function can be accidently hit.

This is very close to my heart, in all my cycling life 30+ yrs, i NEVER use laps, i dont see the use of them, they're to major a feature on the karoo2, for all the items that go on whilst you're in-ride, the last thing you need is to hit the Lap buttonv and react the way it does, it spoils that fact of the display as it then becomes a thin blue line at the bottom and it drives me crazy, Either be able to reprogram the buttons, its my No. 1 hate on the k2 !

This was first commented on 10 months ago and not one response from the HH team. Absolutely disgraceful! I also have never ever used the lap option on any bike computer I've had. On my 2nd ride with the Karoo 2 imagine my surprise when I looked at the info after the ride and there were 2 laps recorded!!! I had no idea how that happened!

When I've had this happen I used fit file tools field stripper to remove the lap(s). For all of the customizations Hammerhead supports this should be a dead simple request to accommodate. Either let us remap the button or disable it entirely.

Hammerhead rate the importance of threads/posts, as far as i know, by how many votes they get and this obviously has not many, given Sram own this company what are they actually doing? It'd be better to be acquired by wahoo than sram, THEN it'd have some proper development then it gets now which effectively is a load of crap, effectively, whereby uses have to be an IT expert to sort it to their satisfaction.

May i add, the bottom left buttom is instinctively used for reversing out of whatever i gone into, not activating a Lap 🙄

I don't see why we can't get a setting to remove/reassign the lap button but if the product team feels strongly about leaving it in place for the love of god give us the ability to delete a lap. I have this gorgeous and powerful bike computer than can record all of this data and then use the SIM card to automatically upload it to Strava, RwGPS, etc when I'm done but when trigger a lap by accident I have to follow this crazy complicated process fix something that could have easily been avoided or worst case edited on the device itself. I would really appreciate a response from Hammerhead on this as it's one of two major annoyances I have with this thing (the first being the inability to disable turn-by-turn auto re-routing).

    1. Pull out a computer/phone
    2. Go to the Hammerhead dashboard
    3. Download my FIT file
    4. Head over to fitfiletools.com
    5. Load my ride and have it remove the lap(s)
    6. Download the new FIT file
    7. Go to to Strava and then import it there manually (and any other sites)

I've got a great idea Hammerhead how about you reprogram the buttom to search for a place to ride to, but that'll never happen will it or as Byron said above, whatever we want it to be.. 😉
