I agree, please allow to disable lap functionality, I accidentally press a button and lap gets recorded.

Same here, happens to me regularly. Usually when I press one of the right buttons I accidentally press the lap button.

I agree too. I never use the lap function.

    Good idea.

Maybe implementing the auto-lap feature will remove this as an (accidental) button press?

If we can't disable the functionality can't we be given a way to delete laps that were created by mistake?

Totally agree.  I hate how the lap function can be accidently hit.

This was first commented on 10 months ago and not one response from the HH team. Absolutely disgraceful! I also have never ever used the lap option on any bike computer I've had. On my 2nd ride with the Karoo 2 imagine my surprise when I looked at the info after the ride and there were 2 laps recorded!!! I had no idea how that happened!

When I've had this happen I used fit file tools field stripper to remove the lap(s). For all of the customizations Hammerhead supports this should be a dead simple request to accommodate. Either let us remap the button or disable it entirely.

I don't see why we can't get a setting to remove/reassign the lap button but if the product team feels strongly about leaving it in place for the love of god give us the ability to delete a lap. I have this gorgeous and powerful bike computer than can record all of this data and then use the SIM card to automatically upload it to Strava, RwGPS, etc when I'm done but when trigger a lap by accident I have to follow this crazy complicated process fix something that could have easily been avoided or worst case edited on the device itself. I would really appreciate a response from Hammerhead on this as it's one of two major annoyances I have with this thing (the first being the inability to disable turn-by-turn auto re-routing).

    1. Pull out a computer/phone
    2. Go to the Hammerhead dashboard
    3. Download my FIT file
    4. Head over to fitfiletools.com
    5. Load my ride and have it remove the lap(s)
    6. Download the new FIT file
    7. Go to to Strava and then import it there manually (and any other sites)

Please do this. The lap button is bad for my blood pressure.

    I agree here!

I can imagine „set lap“ is an important feature for some user while riding. But for touring its often just not necessary or even more annoying to tap accidentally the left-button button. While it isn't possible to delete a lap its even more annoying to have a second or third tab in the drawer wich you always have to skip.

In short: Please make it possible to deactivate „set-lap“ with the button

Agree with everythig written here. I want to use the auto-lap feature to count laps during an everesting event. I already get high blood pressure thinking about accidentally hitting the lap button since it will ad an additional lap and ruin the lap count. Your not even safe from this godforsaken lap-button while the auto-lap feature is activated. I‘ll probably tape/block the button with something so I wont accidentally push it. Same for the ↩️-icon in the bottom left corner of the screen. Hammerhead really needs to work on this urgently, I want to be able to work WITH my device, not against it

If you don’t need more than 6 data fields, using the map view is one way to get rid of the lap functionality. (Supposedly double-tapping the bottom left button should still mark a lap, but I have never managed to get it to work. (And yeah, most of my laps are mistakes as well, unless I’m doing intervals, usually pressing the back button for something that is already gone or maybe thinking the back button will get me back to the map view or something like that.)
