"Ride Not Recording" is more important than "Live Strava Overlay"... A Story of what might have been.....
Slight rant: Anyone at hammerhead, I love my K2 so please take this little rant in the way it is meant, with improvement in mind.
So I was riding this morning and happened upon a favourited TT strava segment, which started on my planned route. I was doing well so I thought "sod it, I'll keep going and see what I can do".... As I got further into the segment, I was still doing well and ahead of the KOM time... I figured I'd actually go for it...
Now, the K2 has a FANTASTIC strava segment overlay as we all know. The twin tab was showing (route in yellow and strava in orange), but I was struggling to flip to the orange tab as it had a very thin orange line to flip to it on the touch screen....
anyway after some vigorous finger pressing, I managed to get the strava overlay up and full screen. There it was in all its glory, distance to go, time head of KOM and 2nd place... I was gunning it.... 5km to go, 4km 2km 100m, BOOM KOM by 36s on a 10Mile TT segment (on a road bike). Bloody love it.
Sit back and relax, only to find than once the live segment had gone away (segment was done), sitting BEHIND it, there, like a single finger from the gods themselves, was a little box....
"Ride not recording"....
WTAF !. my mind was racing, but When? How? Strava live segment told me...... AARGGHH...
Once I'd calmed down a bit, I'd realised that in my rapid finger pressing to get the strava live screen up to full screen so I could go for it, I'd obviously hit the tiny little "pause" icon also bottom right of the screen.
Because the strava overlay, goes on top of EVERYTHING, I didn't see the "ride not recording" notification until the overlay had gone.
so 2 bits of feedback for Hammerhead:
-
The most important bit of information in this circumstance is "ride not reporting", that should be the top level overlay. I cant' think of a use case where someone wants to view the live strava segment page full screen while riding and not recording, that would be stupid ()

Make it easier to flip up the strava live segment tab when the yellow route tab is showing and they're both at the bottom of the screen. Its easy to bring the tabs up (swipe up) but switching to the strava one from the route one is tough when riding. Perhaps I *should* have swiped UP again to make them full screen and THEN switch tab, but in the heat of the segment chase, you don't think like that you just want your damn data and you want it now

I know I only said 2 , heres a bonus one. Perhaps we can have a setting to stop touch screen pauses working when in a ride (like wifi) so only the buttons can pause, less likely to cause a problem?
I still love my K2, its awesome and thank you Hammerhead for bringing it to market. Keep improving, keep innovating.
