Hi Yes I know its a strava limitation but i was wondering if anyone knows why they have imposed it as it affect’s alot of segments and makes the live segment feature much less useful.

You better find your answer on Strava support forum.

My POV is that they developed segments for ppl to compete on climbs...hence the title King Of MOUNTAIN. So I think Strava just want to stay aligned with the name.

After several accidents in the earliest years of strava they have implemented several precautions > segments can be flagged as dangerous, segments with a negative slope are not encouraged and left out of live segments. They wanted to prevent people kamikazing themselves down busy roads with heavy backpacks and lead filled waterbottles.

I have no problem with it, anything below - 0.25% is not very interesting for a real test of cycling performance, except maybe for mountainbikers.
