Hey Allan, thanks for posting your request.

As of now, we do not have the option to switch between dark and light modes depending on the time of the day. That would be a great suggestion and I have shared it with the Product team!

Also coming to the second point, this definitely sounds like a good suggestion too and I have shared it with the Product team. It would be useful to have settings for different brightnesses when using light and dark modes. This may be something the developers can add in a future update!

This is also upvoted from my side! Last autumn, when I rode into the night I made the experience that riding with white background by night got very awkward as I got dazzled a lot - to such an extent that I decided to only use the dark background for rides into the night as a white background is simply not night ride compatible (yes, I know I can reduce the brightness but that´s just a workaround with additional negative side effects). But in general, I prefer the white background. My suggestion is to add some smartness to the automated switching functionality. E.g. by considering the local sunset time to determine the time for shifting plus adding a menu item to the settings (activation of smart background adjustment yes/no). The realization should be pretty simple and straightforward (low number of story points expected)

I only agree with these features if there is an option to choose your own desired settings so nothing "automatically".

This feature have been requested previously. Confused as to why this is considered a new request...
Jeesh guys it's seriously not hard. Jsut use Time of day and TZ as I'm pretty sure you don't have a light sensor.
