Feature request: Graphical power and heart rate data field improvements
AnsweredThere are a few things stopping me from using the graphical power/heart fields which I think could be fairly easily improved.
- I normally put the power numbers up the top, but graphical fields are only available down the bottom?
- The circular power/heart fields look good in screen shots, but in use they look like they jump all over the place. Similar to https://web.dev/cls/. A gradient line below the number with the number sliding left to right etc would fix this.
- I've customised my power and heart rate zones (which would be much better as a percentage BTW) and would like to be able to name each zone. eg LT1/LT2 or Endurance/Threshold/V02Max etc. This should then be displayed on the graphical data field (or a new data field). I was thinking it could be some small text under the power number.

EDITED - Graphical fields being able to be placed at the top would be hugely beneficial, for 2 reasons (for me):
1 - (As below) being able to have quick look power/heart rate zone info whilst using the climber drawer. Usually in a lot of pain, going up hill, so being able to glance down and see a colour of the graph rather than having to read and understand a number (which the data field provides) is so much easier and allows me to focus on the effort.
2 - Having the option to use the elevation graphical field (arguably one of the best implemented features vs Garmin/Wahoo) in any area of the screen. I personally would love the elevation graph above data fields as well as the map, as its the thing I glance at most frequently to know what's coming up, and its amazing how much easier glancing at the top of the screen is versus the bottom.
Note - I could understand Product team may have a concern that too many options of how to configure a data screen may exist....but were cyclist and I'm sure a huge amount of us are data geeks with it, I'm not sure its possible to have too many options ;)

I was just thinking about this yesterday and didn't get around to creating a post. I keep the circular graphic fields for both HR and Power on my primary screen and it's what I rely on most. I love the Climber feature but it would be really great if I could have the HR and Power graphical fields at the top instead of the bottom so that when the Climber page pops up I can leave it on the screen and still be able to see the HR & Power graphical fields.

Hi Allan,
Thank you for posting.
This is interesting input and would be of great help. As graphical fields are to be quickly looked at need the field to be clear and stable in the range. And as Byron says it's difficult to see the graphical data while the climber or turn by turn drawer is up. I would definitely forward this request to our Software and Product team with inputs from Tom and Byron.
Your vote on this is important for us and I see that it already has 3 upvotes. Based on the votes and similar feedback our team does prioritizes the requests. As of now, we do not have a definite timeline for this to be implemented but looking forward to seeing this feature as a part of future updates. -
In general we need a much more flexible way to configure the layouts.
The current limitations, like only one map page and layouts must have a "graph" field to add the nicer looking fields, are just too limiting.
I'm still hoping for a complete revamp of the layout component including an API to add my own fields.
