Control center slow to open
AnsweredI really like the addition of the control center, as it makes it possible to access many more functions using the hardware buttons. The only thing I dislike is that it has become much harder and slower to access the things that I use the most - rain lock and screen off.
As well as being more clicks, the first time I open the control centre on a ride, it takes several seconds for the first screen to open. The second and subsequent times the control center is opened are much faster.

Hi Paul, thank you for your honest feedback. Control Center as it is now is a highly customized feature over the top of the default Android notification centre. The UI elements take time to load for the first time but should be relatively quick afterwards. We are monitoring the reports from other riders as well, and if there is a possibility to optimize the behaviour we will certainly action on it.

Hi Ali,
Thanks for the reply. I tried it again when I was riding yesterday, and it takes a full three seconds to open. In my opinion that's really too long for a UI that's intended to be used when riding a bike.
As well as the lag on the first opening, I find that the options that I want to use most frequently are spread across different pages. For example, rain lock and screen brightness are on the second page, whereas wifi and settings are both on the first page - both things that I'd never touch when actually riding.
It's great that we can now do more with the hardware buttons, but it's a shame that some common controls have become much more cumbersome to get to.

I notice that the last-but-one update has changed the default page on the control center to the "Ride" page, which changes it from one set of controls that I would almost never use when riding, to another set.
If I'm going to change route, or add a workout, I'd almost certainly stop riding to do that.
On the other hand, rain mode, screen brightness and battery save mode are things that I want to be able to change while I'm actually riding. It'd be nice if at least some of those were on the default control center page.
It remains frustratingly slow to open. Yes, it's only the first time on each ride, but I rarely use it more than once per ride.
