Hey Dave, the additional data that will be written to the FIT files are the TrainingPeaks values such as Intensity Factor, Training Stress Score (TSS), FTP. The FIT file will also record Lap Averages such as Lap Average speed, Lap Average Cadence, etc for a particular Lap.

The calories will not be written to the FIT file, but sites and training programs will use that power data to calculate calorie metrics.

Calories data has been specially requested by people and yet you still fail to add it, even when you are modifying the data written to the fit file.

You really don't listen to customers, do you?

Import the fit file into garmin, the calories are 0.

I would never buy or recommend another hammerhead product.

They do listen, but come on. Put calories in a fit file, will not on top of their roadmap. What are you doing with calculated calories? If you have power data calculate it yourself in excel. Please make no big deal if calories are not present in the fit file.

TLDR : I paid good money for the K2 and I'll complain if I want to.

'Please make no big deal if calories are not present in the fit file.' - Really ?

I paid good money for a Cycling Head Unit that was presented as the 'Most fully featured' doesn't include features other do, so can't be the most fully featured.

I see lots of request for this an that that don't affect me, but I don't bash them, or say they aren't valid.

Most people with these requests have spent a lot of money on this head unit so any request is valid.

By the tone of your post, you acknowledge that it is a simple job, the data is already calculated and displayed, just not written, they were adding data being written to the fit file, I can't see that this would have been more than a few lines of code.

What does it matter to you what I want the calorie data for? I didn't buy the 'Most Fully Featured' head unit to muck around in excel.

I agree my garmin can do it and it is close even without a power meter. My bosch e bike has a power meter and they come close on calories but when the karoo uploads to strava the calorie calculation is like not even having HR on the garmin in accurate.

You can't always get what you want - immediately.

I can if I buy virtually anyone else's - How then is the Karoo 2 the 'Most fully featured'?

it isn't like this is the first time this has been requested, when I first looking into this with regard to the Calories not being calculated from HR, I was told that it needed a power meter.

Once I'd purchased a pair of  power-meters, I was then told, oh no we don't record it.

Why not just say that in the first place?

The Hardware is nice, the software is OK, but it is no Garmin/Wahoo slayer like it's portrayed to be. (imho, ymmv) While quite basic functions that every other head unit performs out of the box and support have no interest implementing are ignored, it never will be.
