Karoo 3 weir varia behavior

Anyone have issue with the K3 having a mind of its own for the varia light mode? Ill turn my varia on, start my ride, and then a few miles in i notice my varia is in a different light setting that what it was when i turned it on. Ive also used the karoo screen to select a specific light mode, only to find at the end of my ride the light mode has changed again. Other than that, the radar works fine, just not sure why the karoo changes the mode by itself.

  Yes, I have this as well with a Bryton radar. But typically this happens later in the ride. Often after exactly 1 hour and 6 minutes, or 3 hours and 6 minutes.

  I can confirm it with Bryton Gardia but very incidental. Usually after ride pause when Karoo goes to energy save mode and after restart ride, radar is in different light mode than befor.

  I think the problem lies in the radar briefly disconnecting. After that, the radar likely reverts to the last mode selected manually using the button on the radar. Therefore, if you selected a mode on the Karoo, the radar switches to a different mode after disconnecting. Please test this on your device and confirm. It's likely that the radar doesn't automatically reconnect after disconnecting and therefore remains in the changed mode. Unless you reselect a mode on the Karoo, in which case the radar will reconnect in the selected mode. If you confirm this is the case, this can be fixed in the Karoo software. The Karoo should remember whether the radar was connected. If it disconnected during an activity, it should attempt to reconnect and select the last used mode.

  I tried it by setting the mode on the radar itself and on the Karoo3, same result either way.
