Looking for feedback on RideCards, my app that puts your own notes and images on the Karoo screen
Hi all, I've been building an app for the Karoo called RideCards. It lets you put your own stuff on the screen as full screen pages you swipe to during a ride. Race plans, climb notes, event QR codes, that sort of thing.
How it works:
- sideload the app onto your Karoo (instructions on the site
- pair the Karoo with the website, then upload your own images or type up cards in the edito
- the Karoo syncs new cards when you start a ride (if it has internet, wifi or phone) or you can open the app and sync manually
I'm the developer so I'll be upfront on pricing. First card is free, Pro unlocks all six slots for US$10/year.
Mostly I'm here for feedback. What would you actually use it for? If something's missing or annoying I'd genuinely like to hear it. Happy to look at custom builds too if you've got a use case that doesn't fit.

Great idea John!
Have you thought about other people pushing cards to your Karoo live? Friends sending selfies mid ride, a coach updating notes, etc...?
On the Karoo 3 companion app connection, it should be possible. Although one thing to know that I hit: the companion link caps responses around 100KB, and it's measured after decompression so gzip doesn't help. I tested it - 93KB got through, 168KB didn't, and compressing 102KB to 30KB on the wire changed nothing.
