Waybook Extension: rich offline guide to places on your route and around you
Hi everyone, I’m excited to share Waybook with you (in beta)!

What’s Waybook:
- It finds interesting places around your loaded route, and builds you an illustrated, offline "waybook" about them
- Places have photos, rich descriptions why cyclists stop there, practical info, etc.
- You can view live info from Google Maps – reviews, ratings, photos, opening hours!
- There is a Nearby mode which constantly scans around you and allows you to find the next coffee stop.
- You can use it as a data field or open the full app for a richer experience. All places are displayed on the Karoo map as pins.
Check out more info and install here: https://waybook.cc/karoo
Fully free while it's in beta.
Looking for beta testers!
Please, you’re all welcome to take it for a spin. If anybody has a Karoo 2, I would love if you really test it out! It should work, but I’ve only ever run this on a Karoo 3.
Notes: on battery – once your waybook is built, a normal ride does no network at all. Nearby is the only part that talks to the network, and it's off unless you turn it on (capped at 20 scans per hour). Waybook also sends anonymous diagnostics during the beta so I can catch bugs – there's a toggle in Settings.
Happy to hear any feedback! You can send it here or jakub@jakubfoglar.com

Hi Marcus! The extension itself on the Karoo has POIs everywhere, and researches them as you meet them (in the route mode and also in the nearby mode).
Maybe you’re talking about this map that has a cluster of POIs visible around Bristol? https://waybook.cc/places For now, I have a few regions around Europe that I am experimenting on to provide even richer info on places (and those get published onto that webpage). New version is coming soon, which region are you interested in? Would be great to chat!
