VinApp Extension: the misunderstood one

VinApp and Vin HkE have both been available in the Hammerhead Extension Store from day one, but we have to admit something: we’ve never done a particularly good job of explaining VinApp to the Karoo community. As a result, many more people know Vin HkE than VinApp.

VinApp is not just another set of data fields. It is an independent training system that can turn your Karoo into your cycling training agenda: your training plan, your scheduled sessions, your workout library and the tools to actually execute those workouts.

Vin HkE and VinApp are different products with different purposes. You can use either of them independently, or use them together. We’ve decided it’s time to fix this old communication debt. 

We’ve created a Karoo-first version of VinApp, designed specifically to make much more sense when used on a Karoo, and we’ve also built a dedicated website explaining what VinApp and Vin HkE are, what each one does, and how they can be used together or separately.

So if you already know Vin HkE but have never really understood what VinApp was doing in the Extension Store, this is probably a good time to have another look.Take a look, try it if it interests you, and feel free to ask us anything that isn’t clear. That’s actually one of the reasons for posting this: we’d like to understand what we still haven’t explained properly.

This is not an announcement that VinApp is “finished”. That’s not really how we build Vin. Vin has always evolved through continuous feedback from the people who actually use it. We release, listen, adjust and keep improving. The Karoo version will follow exactly the same philosophy. So if you already know Vin HkE but have never really understood what VinApp was doing in the Extension Store, this is probably a good time to have another look.
