Feature Request: Optional PIN or password protection on startup

Since the Karoo allows for app side loading, apps like garage door opener apps for WiFi-enabled openers would make it easy to open a garage door when returning home.

However if you lose the Karoo or it gets stolen, the person who has it can now find out where you live from saved rides - and gain access to your house.

So while I’ve considered side loading a garage door opener app, it’s too risky until the Karoo supports *optional* additional security features, like PIN or password protection. Just putting this on the development team’s list of things to consider.

  My vote for this. And not only for those obvious security reasons: the information inside my Karoo (the rides) is personal, and I'd like to have some kind of PIN protection.

  This seems like a basic security feature, which I'm quite surprised isn't there. Put it on the backlog ASAP. Thanks.
