This is the 2nd time in the last 3 updates. Shame they don't test everything (anything) before they release it on us poor users!!!

    "Hey folks,

I am sorry for the inconvenience caused due to this.

You can see the Release Notes for the latest release here: https://www.hammerhead.io/blogs/change-logs/karoo-software-release-1-307-1266

I will definitely work with my team to fix this and also to ensure that we test links before we send out emails."

    Hi Franklin

Is there no limit to how many times you customer service folks can say sorry to your user base? This may be a very trivial complaint in the general scheme of Hammerhead's operations, but it is indicative of how badly (and rushed) your updates are! You have just admitted that the links are not tested, so how can we be confident that any of the updates are properly tested before release? That was a rhetorical question in case you were going to answer! Basically, a lot of your users are not confident at all!!!

    Hey Steve,

I am going to answer that question because your portrayal of our software update cycle is not correct.

We do have proper rigorous and multiple rounds of testing methods for all our software updates. I did take your word that links were not working and I responded to that. However, upon further checking it seems that we have tested the links before this email was sent out. We sent this email to thousands of riders and its just a few people who are having this issue so it cannot be an issue with the email.

Can you please let me know which Geo you are from? This will help in further testing to see why you had an issue.

Steve - all the links has been working fine on all the geo stores. I just now backtracked and tested on the email that was sent to you, and it doesn't seem to be broken there as well.

Could you please let me know if you are connected over a VPN? also, please share the URL of the page that throws the error "404".

Hi Ali - what happened to Franklin? I am not on a VPN and it is still not working on the link from my email.

By Geo, I assume you mean region of the world. I am in Australia. The place where you have no support team that work on my time zone.

Franklin said, "We sent this email to thousands of riders and its just a few people who are having this issue so it cannot be an issue with the email". Nice to know he is happy that "only" a few people are having an issue. If I was an employee of Hammerhead I would only be happy if zero users were having an issue! And, I never suggested the problem was with the email. I was just reporting an error!

Franklin also said, "However, upon further checking it seems that we have tested the links before this email was sent out". How very reassuring. He seems very proud that your people actually did the job that the are paid to do!!!

Here is the URL you requested : 404 Not Found – Hammerhead AU

The link doesn't work in the UK either, but it is what it is, no need to get so bent out of shape about it. Imagine if Microsoft, Apple or any other global company managed to release software/patch without any bugs in it?

Hammerhead are a small company that are being agile and having to juggle the improvement of the software, adding features and functionality and every now and again there are unforeseen issues...rather than rant on here, log a ticket with the logs that they ask for help out the whole community.

Me too (from the Netherlands) - broken weblink message: 404 Page Not Found

This is the (trouble) web address sent by hammerhead:

    https://www.eu.hammerhead.io/blogs/change-logs/karoo-software-release-1-307-1266

But this URL address brings me to all the release notes:  https://www.eu.hammerhead.io/blogs/change-logs

and when I click at the 1.307.1266 version - the right URL address shows up !

    https://www.eu.hammerhead.io/blogs/change-logs/karoo-software-build-version-1-307-1266

Please compare both URL's  [URL sent by e-mail (404 Page not found) and the 'right' working URL - reached from the main Software Release Notes site]

Please have a look at the end of the 'URL tails':

    - > karoo-software-release-1-307-1266-

    - > karoo-software-build-version-1-307-1266

    Thanks for the input, Gerard.

We have informed the web dev team. This should be noted for the future test cases.

    @Ali My pleasure ;-)
On top of this topic is an official message (yellow tagged) - placed by Franklin Prince - with an incorrect statement.
This official statement must also be amended. (at least the url)

    Hi Richard,

The Software release email is shared with an image file. So one of the possible causes here could be the image did not load in your inbox. You may find some articles online on how to enable the images in your Yahoo inbox. Please let me know if these settings are already in place for your Yahoo account.

thanks Ali       Was it  tested it across multiple configurations?  my Yahoo has Show images is toggled "on". I usually get the link on new releases.

I know how to make your stuff work, I have been beta tester since I bought it 2 1/2 years ago. Might I suggest a prominent link to the updates and in depth discussion of them (perhaps get ol' Frankie a podcast). It is not  a top menu item, in fact sort of buried on the HH site.

is not searchable readily in https://support.hammerhead.io/hc/en-us. One can find it, but it is not as graceful as it might be, even to experienced users. The fact that this thread exists should reflect that.  Prolly the search engine in Zendesk, such as it is, needing better SEO.

The new update is causing  sensor configuration and connection issues for many, if my own and the forums are relevant observations, and more of an introduction and discussion of the changes would be of use and a good promotion of your commitment to frequent updating.  It appears to have sensor precedence requirements that are not readily evident.  Thanks to Akil for his help in sorting mine out.

Hi Richard, it had been tested with as many possibilities that we can identify, but there is always a way to learn and adapt with endless use-cases around the world. If all your email settings are in place, could you please share the some images with us on what you see?

We have informed the website team to have the release notes more prominent, but it would be some time before we make remarkable changes amidst other priorities.

I believe the sensor configuration you referring to is for the CSC sensors, where users can't get the speed reading. This will be fixed in the update next Thursday.
