That's weird. My K2 takes 50 seconds, GPLama's K2 needs twice as much time!

Its the user friendly interface that nobody asked for but looks pretty and takes forever to load in I'm on about the pull down screen interface. Nothing wrong with how it was. Just something else to drain the battery down.

    Here too, just 50 seconds.
And I have no problem in waiting a little bit longer to be able to use the Karoo 2.

Certainly not a key consideration for me. Purchase decision was based on Platform Supportability Android is better than the shyte Garmin calls stable.

Regular updates count a lot. Garmin only starting updating their Software after Hammerhead routinely improved their software.
Boot times is "meh" for me.

I complained about loooong boot times a while ago ( https://support.hammerhead.io/hc/en-us/community/posts/4926139416731-Karoo-2-takes-forever-to-start-up ) but mine has been back to a reliable ~50 seconds now for about a month as well without me doing anything special about it, other than the usual firmware updates.

Guess GPLama’s unit might have something similar, no idea what caused it or why it went away, would of course be nice to know... Support suggested that sideloaded apps (of which I had a few and still do) might have been the problem but I didn’t do anything about them either.

Don't know if it's a 'characteristic' of being an Android platform / or RAM / or processor but sometimes I can be waiting around 4 minutes for the device to get to the Profiles screen; most of that time hanging on the Hammerhead logo screen, then the animated K screen. 8 month old device with last 3-4 months experiencing the significant slowdown.

I find the boot-up times annoying too. In particular restarting the Karoo2 after a pause takes a long time. First the computer needs to boot-up. Then, once you pick “resume ride” you have another lengthy wait for the activity to reopen. Meanwhile, your cycling group vanishes behind the horizon…
