Strava live segments - time in consistencies

I have been experiencing inconsistencies in strava segments: on a long segment (40+ minute climb) the time behind my PR and carrot are off: I was being shown up until the end that I was more than 1 min behind my PR and nearest competitor, but the map showed us tracking very closely and my finish time was 7s behind my PR. It seems the time gap calculation could be off?
