Screen simply turns the screen off. When you turn the screen off during a ride (to conserve battery) the navigation beeps continue, ride is still being recorded and all sensors stay connected.

You would think it just powers-off the screen but...

I used to boot the K2 several minutes prior to riding (because I was getting near 5 minute boot times) then I'd swipe down the Control Centre and tap the "screen off" button while I finished getting ready, expecting it to resume from the profile screen. However on numerous occasions I'd find the "screen off" had actually turned the device off, not gone to sleep, and I had to go through the whole boot process again. Since this annoyance I've always started the Karoo with at least one sensor paired, usually heart rate, and launched a profile to confirm heart rate is being displayed. The screen-off function now operates as expected.

Thx. I finally managed to get it work. Droidscript connects to a firebeetle esp32 via BLE and tells macrodroid to set screen off/on. Now a membrane button under the brake hood and ready is the ultimate battery saver. Hacking k2 is fun 😅
