1.320.1298 No Map during ride
Shortly after updating to the latest release 1.320.1298, I head out for a ride and everything seems fine at first. I'm on familiar roads so I'm on a data screen. Then, I see a road with an interesting name and want to see where it leads so I swipe to the map screen and there is no map. The buttons on the bottom left for Suunto heatmaps, lock, and orientation are there but the screen is otherwise black. None of the buttons bring up the map, nor does any amount of swiping around or flipping through my data screens.
Luckily I have my phone with me so I can pull up Google Maps. Once I get home and save the ride, I can see that my K2 did in fact record my path. I start a new ride at my desk and the map screen appears to be working fine. No indication of why this happened or how I might avoid this problem in the future.
Frankly, I still have lingering anxiety using my K2 since it seems we can't trust that the latest update hasn't somehow broken its basic functionality in a new way, after that mid-ride restart data-loss bug where many of us lost rides, apparently to do with the beeper. As others have said, if this is the degree of (or lack of) testing before an update gets released, we really should have a way to roll back an update or be able to choose from a beta or a stable update stream.

@Leo, thanks for sharing the photo — that's exactly how my K2 looked.
For reference, my paired devices are: power meter pedals, heartrate monitor, and phone. No separate speed sensor, and I was using an "Outdoor" profile. Wondering if this also has something to do with the changes made to remove Built-in GPS from the sensor list.

Hi Stanley,
Thanks for sharing your experience with the Karoo! We would love to investigate this further and therefore I have created a ticket as a follow up to your post.
@others, In case we require more details or observations around this, we will be sure to get in touch with you too :)
