Karoo 2 is built on a fiberglass-filled high-impact polycarbonate chassis with interlocking protective shells and weather-resistant gaskets and ports that give it an IP67 waterproof and dustproof rating. It has been rigorously tested for shock, vibration, and environmental fatigue making it a benchmark for durability and ruggedness.
The unit measures 100.45 x 60.25 x 19.5mm and weighs 130.8 grams. The Hammerhead mounting system weighs 35.8 grams.
It has the highest resolution for a bike computer screen at 3.2” Inche multi-point capacitive touchscreen.
The total storage capacity is 32 GB and about 3GB is reserved for the operating system and default applications, the rest is there to support your maps and data!
Karoo 2 has a Quad-core 1.1Ghz, CPU with 2GB of RAM. This ultra-fast yet ultra-efficient processor delivers smooth operation and data visualization.
The product has also been tested to ensure that prolonged or intense UV exposure does not discolor or degrade the materials.
The unit has been reliability tested for operation between -15°C and 55°C. We decided to keep the industrial design clean and the options for external power easier. The unit is IP67 Water-resistant and does not always necessarily require a rubber plug over the USB-C port.
You will receive two black rubber plugs in the box along with your Karoo 2. These plugs are for the USB C port. Although the Karoo 2 is IP67 Certified with a waterproof charging port, these plugs just add an extra level of protection and help to keep the charging port clean from dirt, mud, and moisture. If you intend to take your Karoo 2 on a muddy or wet ride, we strongly suggest you pop one of these plugs on the charging port.
Reminder - Do Not charge the unit in wet conditions or if the charging port is full of moisture. See: Charging Karoo 2
