No software update 03/11/22?
AnsweredI didn't receive an email about any updates, which often happens anyway. I just checked the website and there is no software update info since 20 October 2022. I assume that means there was no new update. If that is the case, and I'm not saying it's a bad thing, maybe Hammerhead could have let us know.
I did see a message on one of the threads about one of the PROMISED updates not being ready for another 2 weeks, but nothing to say there were no updates at all.
Ho hum ... just another day as a Hammerhead beta tester!

Hey Steve,
Thanks for posting! We have decided to hold back the release this week as our advanced test riders and software team are working on a few more improvements based on the feedback reported by the test riders. You can expect us to roll out the software update based on our regular bi-weekly cadence in two weeks :)

Hi Akhil
As I said in my previous post, it would have been good customer service if you had messaged people to let them know that was what you were doing. But, as many users have commented before, the words "Hammerhead" and "good customer service" do not belong in the same sentence!

@Steve, I'd highly disagree with that comment. Just like any other company, HH has work to do in CS but they do provide great service fairly consistently - perhaps your experience is different but this statement seems quite harsh.
@Akhil, Like some of the other folks have mentioned in this thread, I really enjoy my bi-weekly updates. It would be ideal to be given a heads-up the day of (or earlier if possible), to let your users know that there is no update this week. Very few of us would complain that HH is holding off on rolling out an update to ensure that it's finely tuned. -
From what I’ve experienced with the Karoo 2, I truly believe that the bi-weekly updates are doing more harm than good. Having that type of pressure to release software updates must make this kind of mistake happen much more often.
What I’ve seen in the very few versions I’ve used is quite inconsistent features, and all-round lack of robust software.
I’ve had problems with Strava segments not appearing during ride, routes disappearing, bad rerouting even though I’m on the correct path, useless battery save mode, option to disable auto-pause not working when doing indoor rides, but working if you have a speed sensor (I.e., does not pause session), all of this from just a handful of mtb rides and indoor cycling. Forget about how accurate the climb/descent is, a solid basis is needed before everything else. -
Clearly HH has a lot of “beta testers” (aka users) willing to pay 400€ to help them develop their device.. had I not bought a second hand unit, I would be returning mine for sure, and probably looking at garmin 1030.. for road users maybe not the case, but for MTB very few things are optimized

Why have 2 weeks update? To have More buggs to see and join to the lots of new others? There are so many importante thinks to incorporating like a livetrack that don't need you send an email to a person. Incidente detection. Eat and Drink. Pedal powermeter balance data and grafics. Sram AXS Integration and configurantion with climber, Power and cadence. Put the Peloton light mode to Varia Radar. Change the type of font to another one. Só lets waiting to the next update and to the New bugs. HH is not diferent from Garmin. But this one is a great cycling GPS that works. Keep Pedal.

Having sold my HH as sick of always waiting on bugfixes. Navigation bug final straw on Holiday with 2 HH not having a clue where to go. (Thing was better on release), wife still has hers I can compare between Garmin & HH.
My 1040 just works seems kind of dull in comparison as it just works
Segments always work, Pain to setup though
Power Metrics OMG how much data, it's all in fit file come on HH
Graphically not as good but not much in it.
Navigation on 1040 is fast accurate and reliable with toggles.
Battery life You sold this as a work in progress with promises to improve but all you've done is make it worse.
2-week update needs to go it was great selling point but in reality, not sustainable with quality rollouts. Also, you seriously need to look into testing of firmware better how a navigation bug slipped though on a Navigation device beyond stupid. Introduce an Alpha & Beta rollout like Garmin would help.
