Surface type data source?
OSM (https://www.openstreetmap.org) correct?
If so, how frequently does Hammerhead sync for A) Dashboard and B) Karoo 2?
I'm excited they introduced paved/gravel % to maps but disappointed so many roads here in TX are uncategorized, hence defaulted to paved.

Next to how often updates happen... Is there a way to actually see (on the dashboard) where the pieces of (for example) unpaved are? It's nice to know that 98% of my route will be paved but i'm interested to actually see on the map where the 2% unpaved is so i might be able to work around it..

Yeah, differentiating between surface types paved and unknown would be useful. Over here, paved roads are pretty much always correctly tagged but for the others the data is often missing (or sometimes even incorrect). I have started adding/correcting such tags on OSM as I notice them (mostly because of unexpected shortcuts offered by Komoot), but it’s a slow process.

@Tom Vandenbosch - Hopefully in due time the Dashboard overlay will distinguish surface type by sections, at least similar to RideWithGPS.com's route profile view.
For now, I'm happy Hammerhead at least introduced % and (in theory) surface alerts via head unit. I'm sure it'll develop over time much like the climbing feature.
