    Hey Steve.

I appreciate you for sharing your recommendation about these three features. I would be curious to understand how valuable these would be for our users riding with Karoo 2. Besides, how beneficial would this be for our outdoor as well as indoor riders.

I would be keeping an eye on the comments here. However, will certainly take these recommendations to our Product team to see how they prioritize these.

    Hi Abhishek,

to provide some idea of the utility of these:

Auto lap feature: Time-dependent autolap could be useful when using a turbo trainer. You could break up a 1h training session in to x minute slots. Time and distance-dependent auto lap is a common feature on other GPS units. - To check that your pace is consistent.

Location-dependent autolap (Geo-lap) - would be useful for riding training routes, without using navigation. You could set the auto-lap to trigger at certain points along the ride (say when you reach a certain village), which would give you some idea of how the ride is progressing. For example, i know my ride is going well if i reach Esher within an hour, and Chobam in ~1h 20 minutes.

Alerts: I've spoke to several riders who say that they set a "Drink" or "eat" reminder on their GPS units while doing long rides. Every 20-30 minutes (or some other user defined time), there unit beeps to remind them to eat or drink. This ensures that they don't forget in the heat of a race/climb etc.
Also HR/Power warnings and prompt you to speed up, if you're after a certain intensity, or calm down, if you don;t want to burn out. Again, i an others use this feature to stop us getting carried away during races or during long rides.

Geo-lap or allowing the user to specify lap points during route building would be a nice expansion of the basic auto lap function.  Something that would showcase the processing power of Karoo and maybe distinguish from the competition!  I could imagine marking points to mark flat sections vs hilly sections of a longer ride.  nice to have more control of the lap point(s) rather than just every "x" miles..  Pretty cool concept!

I have used auto-lap on my Mio Cyclo 405 when riding round an outdoor cycle track. Most useful for checking how your performance is progressing. I used geo-location to mark the start/finish line.

    Hurray! Auto-lap has been added!

Now do geo-lap. No other device has such a useful feature!

Steve, Auto Lap by Location is on my Garmin 530, it's why I bought it.  Posted about having Auto Lap by postion a while back.  Just got my K2 and I don't see this feature yet.  Hopefully it's coming.

Auto-lap by location would be a gorgeous feature!

I think it would probably also require some updates for the Dashboard's route planning tool: You would need to either set some kind of new markers for that, or maybe better, have an option to mark one or more of the track's waypoints.

Ideally you could also name waypoints, so you can see your distance to the next marked/named one.

Yes! Auto-lap by location PLEASE. Our go-to training is loops around Prospect Park and Central Park. Being able to time a lap would be a killer feature, and is definitely missing from the Karoo 2.

Def one of the things I miss of my G530.  It auto lapped by GPS location from where you start the ride.  Was great in Crit Races...you can't press the lap button at 28mph 6" from others...but nice to look back at your data during a race!!!

Please...make this happen before race season in 2 months.  :)

Just adding my voice to the choir... I really want auto lap by location. I do a crit race training ride around a loop every week with about 40 other riders, at race pace. I want to be able to auto lap based on the location of the starting line.

Doing laps by distance doesn't quite work, because after 20-25 laps it's not actually starting from the starting line.

It's not really safe or feasible (or easy to remember!) To press the lap button when in the middle of the pack going 30+mph... I need my hands on my bars, near my brakes, and in position to sprint.
