Turn by Turn Directions
AnsweredOne thing I miss about my Garmin (the only thing!) is that when you are following a route and you approach a turn, the screen reverts to the map screen regardless of what screen you are on to give you a visual indication of the route. It then reverts back to the original screen you were on. This is most useful at complicated junctions. Any chance of adding this as an option?

Good suggestion, but I'll continue to argue for anyone who will listen that the Karoo needs to use color more often and in more places. I would suggest that while following a route that the top bar be used regardless of the TbT settings for each page in a profile:
- Green when on a route and no imminent turns
- Yellow when on a route and a turn is near (and TbT is displayed either on the current screen or the "map" screen).
- Red when off-course
- Black/white/default when not following a course/route
Perhaps a tap on that top bar could send you to the map screen?

Hey Jim.
I appreciate you for sharing your thoughts on the routing feature on the Karoo. Currently, we do not have this feature where, as the turn approaches, the banner gets you to the map screen and then reverts back to the earlier screen (where it was earlier). However, we have tried to make it easy for you to get to know the approaching turn and the banner will appear even if you are on the data screen. We are working on the route management as an incremental project and will certainly look into developing it in the coming releases.
@Dough: I have taken your suggestion to our Product team. We have implemented the colors on the map section as per the requests from our customers. I can not assure you that these color changes are in the vicinity of the immediate implementation. We will certainly look into it.

I 100% support this suggestion, and this is one of the main criticisms that DC Rainmaker has in his review. Where I live (in Sweden), there are lots of roundabouts and seemingly lots of "connected" paths where the Karoo goes crazy with beeps, telling me to go this way and that, despite in reality just wanting me to go straight ahead. If a map popped up, I'd know. As it is now, I just ignore the data field screens if I'm riding an unfamiliar route.

If bringing up the map is not an option, is it possible to make the arrows showing your next direction more prominent? I cycle with sunglasses not my reading glasses. One of the reasons for getting the Karoo 2 was the screen graphics. Without my reading glasses the Karro is easier for most items. However not for the navigation, the arrows are just a little too small to see when you take a quick glance at the head unit.
