    Yeah, same here. I've been meaning to raise this as an annoyance for a good while now. Community has never worked for me in Safari. I am only able to use Chrome to access Community. It seems to be an issue with the way in which you've deployed Zendesk Guide there.

    When attempting to respond to a post - or create a new post - I am prompted to sign-in but sign-in never completes properly. This is what I see:

    So, I did a bit of research into this and it seems it's a widely encountered problem with accessing Zendesk in Safari, and it's been around for well over a year.

    Basically, the login page expects cookies bound to 'zendesk.com'. But when you enable host mapping (using CNAME DNS mapping I think) in Zendesk, the login page still tries to use the zendesk.com cookie, even though you're accessing it from a completely different domain (support.hammerhead.io in this case).

    I'm not sure there is much Hammerhead can do about this since they are just consuming a (shonky) technology from Zendesk to provide a CRM solution to their customers.

    The solution is for Zendesk to change the behaviour of the login page such that it loads the iframe using the mapped host name, but it doesn't look like they're interested in fixing this. There are other issues with the Zendesk login form that use the zendesk.com domain as well, which really messes things up if you have multiple Zendesk accounts on different domains since the username and password are stored in your password manager as zendesk.com accounts rather than hammerhead.io or garmin.com accounts, for example.

    Hello Steve,

    thanks for the answer.

    So far i am still a garmin user because i try to change my eco system away from garmin and can't confirm what you writing about garmin. On safari the connect site is accessible and from there i can reach the help site, forum included. Maybe we talk about another website i don't know.

    Thanks for the solution but to set security lower than needed this days is not a way to solve problems. The problems is a little bit deeper in how you gather/store information/cookies.

    The question regarding the trackers/cookies is still not answered.

    Best regards,

    Frank

    Thanks, Steve. Yes, this is an issue where we aren't able to do much right now. Although, we would love to see this solved and we have raised this with the Zendesk support team as well.

    @Frank - The garmin.com thing was just an example to illustrate multiple domains in a password manager. I have no idea whether or not Garmin use Zendesk.

    For now, I will continue to use Chrome to access Hammerhead > Community.

    @Steve: Thanks a lot for clarification and the solution. If there would be a data policy/privacy pop as I have to accept or disagree on modern sites this would help. That looked a little bit supicious to me.

    @Ali: Thanks for commenting

    A year on, and this issue is still present. Cross-site cookies are bad, and never coming back to Safari.
