Karoo dashboard - there isn't any excuse for not showing graphs etc now.
PlannedOdd, I thought I'd posted this an hour or so ago? Are posts being mdoerated/approved?
Anyhow if this is a repost feel free to delete it.
One of the things I was most disappointed with on obtaining a Karoo was the poor dahboard. It looks nice, but apart from the map and some summary statistics it is pretty bare.
After thinking about and making progress on analysing the downloadable fit files and wanting something more attuned to my needs rather than using Golden Cheetah or other analysers I thought I'd write some code for displaying the FIT file info.
However, someone has just done it - https://github.com/karaul/fitplotter
It's pretty good and is just html/javascript mostly. Your Karoo engineers should easily be able to incorporate the code into your dashboard and make us all happy. You might even consider paying the guy for his efforts! though it is an MIT licence.
It would be much better if incorporated into the Kroo dashboard and be a real plus!!!!
Thanks

Hey Gordon. Sorry for the disappointment. Our online dashboard does a very limited analysis of the FIT files generated by Karoo 2. Additional features will debut on the Dashboard in the future. They are in the pipeline right now.
For users who want to analyze more data captured by Karoo 2, we recommend these free tools for now:Comment actions -
So here is my fit file analyser displaying a rough and ready map and some basic graphs. It's taken me about 10 hours from scratch!

So why can't you do this temporarily from your site. You can have my code if you want! https://github.com/gfmoore/FitFileAnalyser

Can I ask why this thread is not appearing on the main page for a list of discussions ordered by recent and why I had to search for it by my own name to find it? It didn't even come up for the keyword dashboard!!!
Oh, you have to select order by recent activity! I wonder how many people knew that?

Dear Gordon,
there are so many free analysis/visualizing tools on the internet. including yours. Now karoo Fit files can be automatically uploaded to 4 different platforms. I honestly prefer HH putting all its effort on Hardware, Firmware, Client Support, spare parts than proposing a one more alternative to what already nicely exists on internet

If I pay for a top quality car I expect it to come with some pretty basic functionality. I don't expect to have to go elsewhere for wheels, tyres, carpets or even a spare wheel. So why should I pay £350 + shipping for a device that automatically transfers data to a website and then doesn't allow me to look at the data unless I go away and download some other app, download a fit file and then upload it? It's just not necessary. But if you want after market wheels - go for it.
My basic app is to show that this is not rocket science. Give me a few days and I'll integrate my code into the Karoo dashboard and job is done. They could do it themselves if they wanted to.
This isn't going to take away from anything else. It's all a matter of the company priorities and until the customer starts shouting they aren't listening. Imagine if your mobile only did phone calls and you knew it could do so much more!
Sorry, I simply do not agree with what you are saying, but horses for courses :)
