Extra layer screen protector

Hello.  After recently receiving my Karoo2, I purchased an add-on screen protector.  I know the unit is built with Gorilla glass, but to me, an extra layer "couldn't hurt".  If your interested,

They have custom screen protectors for the Karoo 2.  Called Brotect.  Made from "Airglass"; actual glass that is flexible.   Easy to install and so far, excellent results.

    I bought one but made a complete mess of the installation and now the screen looks blotchier than it did with the default protective film it came with.

    I also found the touch sensitivity was slightly affected.

    I got a pack of 3 (foresight of my own lack of ability in putting this stuff on) so I’ll have another go tomorrow.

     

    EDIT: Second one went on perfect and indeed seems sensitivity is unchanged with properly applied protector.

    I got the matt one and it dulls the screen ever so slightly but has no reflections which is why I chose matt.  I can’t speak about the standard one, so perhaps some feedback on its reflective ness might be useful from those who have that one.  The brightness isn’t an issue with the HH K2 at 59% anyway.

    I tried the "glossy" one and removed it.  It introduced way too much glare...

    Thank you. Currently I'm using the plastic matte one that shipped with the unit. I cut off the pull tab and it seems to work okay but can be hard to see the screen in some lighting situations.

    I do not recommend this screen protector at all. In sunny conditions, the screen visibility is horrible compared to the "naked" Karoo.

    Did the Karoo2 ever come with a screen protector? I thought it was meant to, but there was nothing in the box, and I'm wondering if the matt finish of mine means that it was factory fitted?

    If you email protectionfilms24.com they will create an order for you and deliver to the United States. The shipping wasn’t cheap but they had great service and reasonable delivery time.

    Does this screen protector help in any way with water & sweat which renders the naked touchscreen virtually useless?

    @Joe unfortunately with heavy rain the screen was still  terrible to use. 

    (I switched from the matte version to the clear one, never tried matte one in rain but doubt makes any difference)

    @damon thank you for the response. My issue has been with sweat. I remember the karoo 1 touchscreen being usable even with sweat all over it.

    I would have some issues with possible glare in strong sunlight and reduction in touchscreen sensitivity. Depends on how feasible it is, it would be interesting if HH offered a glass replacement service (not necessarily for free) if it becomes damaged.

    I also bought 3 of these films (matt finish), used one and really didn't like the look of it - so I have 2 going spare if anyone wants them?  Free to anyone in the UK...  RSVP...
