How long before map changes are shown on Dashboard?

Morning, 

I think I am correct in thinking HH uses openstreetmap for mapping?

I updated a couple of routes to allow bikes (they are according to OS), and wondered how long that would take to be reflected on the HH dashboard so I could use them on a route.

 

Any ideas?

  Hi David,

  Yes, Indeed we use OSM for Mapping. 

  The updates do not happen immediately but we do ensure they are done in a controlled & periodic time frame. Based on the number of major changes in a particular region, Our teams would be prioritizing the updates for the offline maps.

  I don’t know about on the dashboard but the offline maps I think have been updated about twice in the 18 months I’ve had my Karoo. I’m guessing it might be the same as they are both based on each other.

  That’s a shame. I wonder why the Karoo team doesn’t do a regular pull of the data or let the user chose to delete/refresh their state or region maps data

  Although the maps are osm based, from what I’ve read on here, they do some sort of conversion to their own format and to just take the data fields they want. (In part to reduce size for offline maps I think ) I have no idea how much of a process that is but it may have some bearing on it.
