[OUTAGE] Strava upload/import issues
An incident of delayed uploads was raised today https://status.strava.com/incidents/rztqnhmsst1b
We believe it is affecting Karoo devices as well, as there is no outage on the Hammerhead servers. We are closely monitoring all the systems for any failure on our end.

Same issue here and after ALL of my weekend rides... Extremely frustrating. I have never, ever had a Strava upload issue on any of my other devices, this is unique to my Karoo 2. Features like this should just work...
Is there a HH official position on the issue and resolution path? Would like to hear from the team. Thx!

same problem with me. Error message to upload to Strava.
Ok hammerhead customer service: are you going to do something about it because a lot of people are complaining about the same issue and I do not see a solution for this problem.
Could you please get serious about it and let us know, what can we do?
Thanks

I still can’t. I have been researching and someone said it if too many people are uploading onto Strava?!? Which is totally ridiculous. This whole situation is ridiculous. I’ve used wahoo and garmin and nothing like this has happened. The worst part it seems it has been going on for months and months. What is going on?? Are they fixing this ??

As DP says, Strava was having issues yesterday and I would urge you all to check Strava Status before immediately jumping to blame Hammerhead.

If the number of API calls is reached within a given period of time, then, yes you will have issues uploading your activities. The reason you've not seen this on Wahoo and Garmin is because they have probably negotiated higher API rate limits than Hammerhead has currently (because those products have a greater market share and - subsequently - more users, believe it or not).
I maintain it would still be helpful to get an official comment from Hammerhead on what they are doing about increasing the API rate limits (assuming this is what the problem is) to reassure their users that it's not necessarily the Hammerhead software updates that are causing these problems (as still seems to be perceived by some users).

Yes, I think that all of us who are intermittently experiencing this issue would very much appreciate a statement from Hammerhead regarding their efforts to work with Strava to resolve this ongoing upload problem; even if yesterday's delays had more to do with Strava than with Hammerhead, that has not been the case in other instances where uploading has failed.

Guys, yesterday was a Strava issue not hammerhead. Strava wouldn't even launch properly on my phone, took over an hour just to get strava to bring up my feed. Give Hammerhead a break.
As DP says, Strava was having issues yesterday and I would urge you all to check Strava Status before immediately jumping to blame Hammerhead.
I am seeing complaints of this going back over a year. I like my Karoo2 but its frustrating reading comments of the same problem for the past year. Especially saying two months ago that it was solved....

Not trying to "jump on " hammerhead for this. Just looking for a fix.

Well it is May 27 2021 and I am not really sure why anybody would choose to use the 2.4 GHz band over the 5 GHz band on their router. The 2.4 GHz band only has 3 non-overlapping channels and is generally far noisier than the 5 GHz band.

The Karoo 2 supports 802.11b/g/n and I've found that mine generally prefers to connect to my 5 GHz band on channel 44 where I typically get a maximum throughput of 150 Mbps up and down. YMMV.

My wireless network is configured to use both the 2.4 GHz band and the 5 GHz band on the same SSID (access point name). My devices can then choose which channel they want to connect on.
It seems the issue you were experiencing was down to the network connectivity between your device and your wireless access point; not between Hammerhead and Strava.
