Bug Fixes Vs Features Prioritization By Team?
AnsweredJust wanted to get a sense of whether the team is prioritizing bug fixes over features. I love new features but bugs matter more. Of course then there is the question of what is considered a bug vs a feature. Is the team categorizing things that way internally?
To me, things like some settings like GPS enabled/disabled being global vs per-profile are a bug. Or like things going back to enabled from disabled on their own, like wi-fi. Or the auto-calculation of tire size from a speed sensor being wrong. Or the Bluetooth audio setting crashing the settings app. Or ride app quitting mid-ride or freezing.
Thanks.

Hey Saad,
Thanks for being active in the community! Thanks, Steve & Gerard for pitching in here.
Yes indeed the bugs that you have mentioned we have made a note of and we are working on rolling the fix on them very soon :)
Just to give a better context here anything related to a bug is always a priority over any new feature. In certain cases, the bugs do need more research and time. We do ensure to dedicate our developers to dig deep for a solution, but it may not always be feasible to dedicate 100% of the developer's effort, which is why we trade it off with other requested features that can be developed in the same timeframe. We do have an internal tagging and categorization process for each and every bug and feature request. We have a very clear and calculated approach in terms of prioritizing bug fixes and features. The main factors that are involved here are:
- Affected/Requester audience size ( we collect feedback from various channels such as bug reports, emails, Forum posts, etc)
- Time for development/Fix.
Based on these factors we ensure to be efficient in our execution :)

Some of things you mention may be fixed in the upcoming software update which, by my reckoning, may be released sometime tomorrow. Suggest you keep an eye out for an email and also take a look at the Software Release Notes page for latest updates.
Typically, bug fixes and new features are only notified when they are made generally available and we do not usually get any updates on what Hammerhead is currently working on. Pretty sure everything you mention in your post is a known bug.
