The Varia will now have two pairings on your Karoo. One for the Radar, which you already have done, and now one for the Light on the Varia. Turn the Varia on, then go to your Karoo settings and add a new BT or Ant+ device. The Varia should now show up as a light. Once you pair it, you can then go into the setting for the Varia Light in your Karoo setting and select the mode that you want it to be in when you start a ride.

    Enjoy!

Ignore, removed radar then added light then added radar, made sure light is above radar on sensor priority works like a dream.

    Thanks guys awesome update.

Nigel, for me Your method didn’t help. Still Both Varia radar and light are connected, but auto on/off don’t work.

Light interrogation is really a great feature and improvement. Wonderful update, Hammerhead!

Krzysiek make sure light is above radar in priority and it only works when you start stop ride not on off.

Factory reset of Karoo helps. Now it’s working properly. Thanks

I have tried  see.sense Ace and Icon2 lights, both pair, select flash / full mode, see battery, firmware version, etc but will not turn on with a ride on either last or latest ant+ enabled firmwares. Updated the icon and Ace as well.

It’s nice that the K2 lets you see your light on screen… but you can’t control them at all.

I have the varia radar and the radar works as far as telling me when a car is back there, but I can’t control any of the functions of the light in it. I’ve tried the methods here w no luck.

the reality is that the light integration here is far below that of what units like Garmin do, dms near useless really.

firstly, it should have its own section on the pull down menu, it should not be buried in the sensors menus. I never have to get into sensors unless something has gone wrong. It should have dedicated section and page where you can see all your lights and quickly control them.

lights are a safety feature, not an accessory, and being able to change their mode,  turn them on and off depending on where you’re riding is pretty important and  should not be so hard to get to that you almost have to stop The bike to do it…. And then you can’t do it anyway, the ladro has zero control over May of the varia functions. Ok, so it works for some of you, but all it does is turn it on and off any start and end of ride, sorry but that’s when I need that function the least. There are roads where I don’t need radar or light and saving that battery when it’s running low is super key, but as of now I have to manually turn off lights….. I know , I know, “what the big deal” . No big deal, except the competition let’s you do it with one swipe down and two quick presses and your lights are off, or change the modes, together or independently.
Garmin creates what they call a “light network” where you can change their mode, on/off, auto or “cancel override” (turn everything back to auto) with just a couple of moves, no hunting through all the sensors to find them one at a time.
once you get used to the way a Garmin does it, it’s hard to deal with the Karoo’s poor integration of this now key features. Kind of like keyless entry, once you have it, kind of sucks to deal with keys again.

I do love the new climb feature… but I do feel the light integration needs ti take a much more leading role in future updates.

@ Nicolas Restrepo: Totally agree! I’ve just switched over from Garmin and the ANT lights need some love from the Hammerhead crew. I really would like to have the opportunity to setup lights on one of the screens as Garmin do. Super easy to see how much battery that’s left and also easy to switch between different light modes if needed. On my Garmin I just leave it on auto since it’s just working automagically! As you sad; one’s you tried it there’s no going back!

I got a K2 yesterday and my varia radar & light are also visible on the unit, but unable to control.

I have to use the button on the varia to turn it on, off or change the light setting.

I tried multiple factory reset from settings & even a hard reset using the buttons.
anyone got a fix for this?

@Arne Hammerhead certainly don't have a fix and don't seem to care. This thread has been going for over a year and they haven't responded to it at all!

actually it has been addressed. you need to reset it by holding the power button in for about 10 seconds. then set it up again.

I spend some more time troubleshooting & I think I found a fix (workaround).

    1. Reset the K2

    2. Reset the Varia

    3. Pair other sensors like speed/cadence & power first (if I try the varia first it never works for me)

    4. Pair the varia, first the light and then the radar

    5. Make sure the light is listed above the radar, and choose the light-setting for starting a ride (eg slow flash)

    6. Go and ride, the light turns on when you start the timer.

Extra, you can test if the pairing works by changing the light-settings from the control-panel. Swipe down, go to the light page and change the mode. Here you can also check the battery level.

Hopefully this can help others who encounter these type of problems.
