I don't use ridewithgsp myself anymore, but I don't have any issue importing a public route.

I tried it with a random public route: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/19891
Exported to GPX (without having to login), imported in the HH dashboard. The route was imported without a problem.

So instead of linking your ridewithgps account to the Karoo, you probably better simply download the routes you want to import to the Karoo.

thanks @Michiel, let me try this again. Last time it for some reason errored.

Generally they're not actually my routes so I can't download them beforehand. It's situations like a group ride where you only share the route when you meet so you don't have access to in advance

No still the same for any public ridewithgps.com route. If you don't have a ridewithgps.com account synced it returns

"Import error: Please connect your Ride with GPS account"

Indeed I used a different method. I simply downloaded the GPX file, and uploaded the file in the dashboard. This does not require you to have an account at all!

    Hi David!

If you are trying to use the URL to import a route from RWGPS to Hammerhead, it is required that your RWGPS and Hammerhead accounts be linked for that feature to work. Hammerhead and RWGPS have a partnership and that is part of the integration. If your accounts are linked, this also enables uploading rides. If you don't want to upload to RWGPS, simply tap their icon to gray it out on the ride summary page after your ride, then hit the checkmark to upload.

Alternately, as Michiel mentioned, RWGPS does allow anyone to download public GPX files without signing in -  that file can then be uploaded to Dashboard.

Hi Jami, this might be part of the partnership but it makes no sense to users to have to log in to get something publicly available

Think of this from a users point of view.

Somebody at a group ride shares with you a publicly available route, and you think “great I’ll just import it into my Karoo with one link!”... but you can't, first you’re confusingly asked to login with RWGPS (or similar) to download a publicly available route.

So you set up a new  account, link it to your hammerhead and then import your route.

You look up with the rest of the ride left waiting for you to mess around. What was a simple two step process now became messing about with registering, signing up, linking accounts, etc

Now also because you just wanted to import a route you have to forever now remember to untick the provider you’ve just added so that all the rest of your rides don’t upload.
