Auto Strava Upload?
AnsweredWhy do we have to manually upload to Strava? My Wahoo automatically uploads my ride to Wahoo servers, which in turn automatically upload the ride to Strava, Komoot, or any other connected account. It feels like a step backwards that I have to manually upload. Can Hammerhead update their servers to allow users to sync rides to third parties automatically?

Oh, OK. Great. Mine is supposed to arrive today but looks like it isn't coming until Tues now. Stuck at the local depot since 7am.
I read the manual and some posts on here that seemed to suggest you had to manually upload, choose which of your connected services to upload to, all from the device. If it just happens automatically then great.

No, you don't have to update manually.
It will automatically upload to any connected services. Personally, I use Komoot, RwGPS, and Strava and my ride gets uploaded to all three of these connected services when I save my ride. You can, of course, choose not to upload to any of them if you wish. In which case, it will only upload to the Hammerhead Dashboard and you can then initiate a sync with any of your connected services from there, if you prefer.
Wi-fi will turn on automatically when you end your ride and it will be uploaded as soon as it is able to communicate with the Hammerhead cloud services. If you have a SIM card in, your ride can also be uploaded over your mobile network provider if you are not within range of your wi-fi.
It's all very seamless.

Some folks, including me, had an issue where the auto upload/wifi sync stopped working afer the 3/25/21 update. It worked the first few rides, then stopped, then worked again, and then today it didn't work again. I also get a "file" error when trying to upload to Strava from the dashboard as well. I'm hoping this gets worked out soon. Never had an issue once with my Wahoo.

Hello Zen71!
Welcome to the community! As is explained by our awesome community, once you set them up in Dashboard, they do upload automatically. When you are uploading at the end of your ride, from the summary screen, you can manually select linked services to not upload to. I personally like this because, for me, certain types of rides go only to certain services. I don't upload my casual exploration rides to Xert, for instance.
Chris - we have seen some client errors being returned from Strava this weekend, and we also saw that last weekend. We are looking into what caused those, but it generally means your link needs to be refreshed because some security API or other element has changed. Simply unlink the account, Strava in this case, from Dashboard. Log out and back into Dashboard, and relink the Strava account. Generally, that will get you going again if that happens, provided there is no actual outage etc.
