Turn off all bleeps during pause

Sometimes I stop to visit a shop or a friend and I take the Hammerhead in with me in my pocket. However, in my pocket it is constantly beeping (I assume because it wants to tell me that the ride is paused). Turning off the screen doesn't work because the slightest movement will turn it back on.

Turning off the device loses the ride data. Is there another way?

  Easiest method is by muting the beeper from the quick settings, available when swiping down from the top of the screen.
