New User Question

This seems to be a bug, I have read more messages reporting this issue, seems to be that K2 is computing from cm to inches, but with wrong rounding. Difficulties with typing in a wifi password is also a known bug. Unfortunately HH is very slow in repairing bugs, the community experienced, that none of already known bugs has been removed during the last updates (elevation bug, dropping sensors, black boxes on street names, to name a few)
Your screen seems to be a bad one. My recommendation would be to send the device back, and to be honest try to get a refund, HH does not deliver the device that was promised.

I feel I have to say I don’t recognise what you are saying. The Karoo, for the large part, works perfectly well, and has some excellent features such as the screen, touch control, and navigation.
Of course, there will be bugs, but these generally are no worse than any other device of this complexity. For the majority of rides that I take, and I have sensors, phone, and navigation all in use and working perfectly. Sometimes things don’t work perfectly, but every device will have software issues at times. For example, I feel that there is an issue with the initial elevation calibration on a ride, so I always take a moment to check it. It is small annoyance.
I remember experiences of a similar nature with Garmin, and if you take a look at the Garmin forum for the Edge family you will see many reported issues. It is difficult to be perfect. And yes, HH could fix stuff quicker sometimes, but I do believe that they are working genuinely as hard as possible to produce an excellent product which will push this sector forward and give us all a really worthwhile tool. I for one am staying on the ride, and enjoying cycling and how the Karoo enhances my rides.

Hey Carmen,
Thanks for posting and welcome to the Hammerhead community
We have had other reports about those values changing in the rider profile - I’m very sorry for that inconvenience. Our software team is currently working on improvements to the UI/UX which will help to make the user experience with the Karoo 2 more intuitive. Rider Profile is one area that is being addressed.
As for the touchscreen, it is very sensitive. I can share one thing that I find helps me as I type. When you touch the screen, you’ll see the letter you’ve touched pop up, but it doesn’t actually input that letter until you lift your finger. You can drag your finger to the correct letter before releasing and you will be able to see that you’re on the intended letter. After you get used to the smaller size, you will appreciate the smartphone-like sensitivity!
@All
We thank you all for your continued support, feedback, and suggestions. Your feedback plays a large role in determining priority and what we work to bring to the community in the future. Our goal is to address and work every bug or issue that we or our users uncover. That does require a structured and organized approach, though. Some issues inevitably will be of higher priority due to the impact on usability and overall experience of our community. Sometimes, it can also mean that something very important to an individual or a small user group is held for future projects. We don’t like to disappoint anyone in our community. Every suggestion is meaningful, but we cannot fix everything at once (even though we wish we could!).
Our goal to build the best product in the industry, and provide the best experience and support for our community! We really do believe that involving the community and working towards constant innovation is the best way to do that. We are very appreciative of our community members for their support and for the role they play in helping us to reach our goals! As in so many other parts of life, the path to being the best is not always smooth - but it’s a path worth taking - thanks for being part of that!
