That's serious issues indeed, especially the crashes resulting in lost rides...

I'm wondering if more people are have issues with the latest update? I installed the update, but haven't done a ride yet because of the weather in the Netherlands at the moment 🙄

I updated K2 and rode to work today with no issues. But it was a short, 13km ride.

Hopefully it's just me - I'll be delighted if it's just something that's gone wrong on my unit, but having had my K2 since launch, I know that it's not just that I don't know how to use the thing. Something was most definitely up.

Sometimes it can be beneficial to do a factory reset on the K2, especially when upgrading from software releases that were not, shall we say, up to their usual high standards.

The last two releases have been a lot more solid in terms of reliability so, if you haven't done a factory reset in a month or so, then it might be a worthwhile thing to do.

I reset mine to factory settings every few software updates.

Today I have ridden 50 km and have had no problem, but have also never lost a ride and never had a software crash on my K2.

I agree with Victor here.  You shouldnt have to but I also reset after every few software updates.   It makes the device much snappier and the majority of your info is in the cloud so you only have to re-pair your phone and sensors.

If you do a factory reset do you lose your profile settings?

Just received a brand new unit today. It won't upload to Strava, nor would it sync my started routes. Not impressed. My Garmin watch sucks to navigate from, but I have never had an issue with a linked account like this in my few years of using their watches. I have unlinked my account, logged out of the Dashboard, and relinked with no success. People love to joke about Garmin beta testing features with the public, but this is kinda silly that it has apparently been breaking every update. I know Hammerhead has investors breathing down their neck, but don't release software if it is going to break several core features.

David Harrison - no, you only lose sensors.  Everything else is backed up.  It's a huge win for Karoo as i've had to do full resents numerous times on Garmin and Wahoo and it sucks to set everything up again from scratch.

Kurt - I had this at the beginning.  Unlink, relink fixed it for me.  Make sure you give it a few minutes before re-linking.  I for one have never seen anything break after a new release.  Yeah, i've had to do a full wipe but I do that on my home PC as well.  Things have only improved on the platform for me and most.

Thanks, all. I did do a factory reset straight after the download (the unit was stuck in a loading loop after downloading it so I needed to get it out of that). I'll try another one. Hopefully Hammerhead will also respond to me in due course.

Stick with it.   I had all kinds of issues on my first few days as I figured out which buttons did what and how to  synchronise (in may case with Komoot).  Voyage of discovery, especially given that they do  radically different things depending on what 'mode'  you're in. Hammerhead instructions not that great so you really do need to figure out by yourself.   I've bought and returned Wahoo and a Garmin unit but will  be keeping this one.   Eventually it becomes intuitive (sic) and does work.  Does have real advantages in terms of configurability and screen  size/quality.  This forum good at answering specific questions & they do take note and fix things.  You have 44 days left.

First ride today since I installed the update.

Throughout the ride, my speedometer kept flicking between 0 and actual pace. Autopause message kept popping up on screen whilst moving and the ride even though similar to the week before recorded at almost 4 miles less. Very odd.

My radar doesn't work as of the April update.  It worked perfectly a week ago on the March update.

    Hello all!

I will address some of what I see here - a very active thread.

For the most part, I have heard of very few issues with this update and stability - as suggested by a few, a hard reset may clean up some registry and log errors to get things smooth again. As stated, you'll only have to pair sensors again. All other profile settings etc are backed up.

The "Strava Client Error" is an error from Strava. We have seen it an inordinate amount as of late - we are looking into it and checking with Strava. As mentioned, unlinking your Strava account in Dashboard, signing out/back in, and linking it again typically gets uploads going again. It's hit or miss as to whether you are affected - some people were having issues but I have uploaded multiple workouts in the past 48 hours without errors.

Joe - There were changes to the radar profiles in the last 2 updates - unpair the Varia and pair it again - if you have a model with a tail light, you will see radar and light in your sensor list - pair both. If you are still having issues, send us a message - support@hammerhead.io

Hey Phil - also try unpairing and pairing the speed sensor again and be sure you have good batteries in it. If you are still having issues, send us a message - support@hammerhead.io

    Thanks all!

Hi Jami, thanks for the sum up - very useful. I have intermittent issues with Strava Client Error and did log out of Strava plus reinstalled Stava App to then upload the missing rides - success! One issue I can't work out is that the uploaded rides done on my trainer without GPS register on Strava as being done 8 hours behind the actual time when the ride was begun. Any ideas? Thanks.

So what is the fix for these 3 items? Reset the unit to factory settings and suck it up?

My sensors keep dropping mid ride: it's a "you had one job" situation.

    - had 3 total crashes of the ride and mapping screens, losing my ride data for 2 of those sections.

    - my combined power/cadence sensor kept dropping in and out, particularly the cadence - which is odd as it's the same sensor

    - my gradient info stopped reading after about 15 miles and never re-started
