Merging 2 rides / fit files using the Karoo 2 app
AnsweredStopped at a cafe mid-ride and noticed that my Karoo 2 turned itself off after I removed it from the mount and stuck it in my pocket. Not sure how, maybe I accidently pressed the end ride touchscreen button or maybe the app automatically ends ride after I sat down for a few mins?
In any case, I started a new ride for the ride back home.
Is there any way to merge or combine the 2 rides to a single ride?
Alternatively, I think I can merge the 2 rides using fit file tools combiner, but couid I then upload the *.fit file back to the Hammerhead Karoo app?

Uploading the merged fit file in the HH dashboard does not seem to be possible. You can try to upload the fit file to the Karoo 2 itself after deleting the unmerged fit files from the Karoo 2, via a USB cable. With a bit of luck it will detect this as one successful ride. This is the procedure:
It would be good to know if this works! Please keep us updated 😀.

Unfortunately, this didn't work for me. I tried deleting the two previous fit files and then tried renaming the merged file to each of the previous file names and manually uploading it. But the 2 previous rides still appear in my Hammerhead dashboard. I did notice there was a temp file in the temp folder for the 1st pre-stop leg, so think I encountered the same bug as others who found their Karoo b automatically turned itself off after stopping for a break. Guessing this could be due to the recent firmware update?

I have successfully combined two rides before using this:

Let us know how you get on.

I also use FIT File Tools - works pretty well.
I then upload the new file to Strava, RideWithGPS, Garmin Connect, etc. as needed. Not sure why I would ever want to upload to the HH Dashboard. But if you use the HH system a lot for looking at past rides, not sure how to upload there....
