General Complaints / Feedback
AnsweredEarlier this week I downloaded the new update to fix bugs after the larger update a few weeks ago. System is now running build version 1.200.1016.12.
During my ride this morning, after about two hours, the unit turned into a brick and stopped recording data. There appeared to be an option to "resume ride" using the bottom right button. This did nothing. I attempted to send it back to the home screen with a long hold on the bottom right button. This crashed the unit and deleted my ride - I've looked in the "rides" section as well as the "fit files" folder and it's in neither place. During this ride, the speed reading via GPS seemed off. I have no way to confirm this so maybe it's just in my head but felt like the speed was reading higher than I was actually riding.
Started a new ride and everything seemed to be back to usual until my cadence dropped out. This has been happening this week, since the newest update. I'd ordinarily think it was my sensor but the unit should be pulling cadence from my power meter and I'm still getting power numbers. Cadence never resumed during the ride.
My final complaint is that I've been having a lot of issues getting rides to sync to Strava over the past month - I get the error code "Cannon upload this FIT file (error: Other error). When I try to manually upload the file by pulling the fit file from the hammerhead dashboard to Strava I get a similar error saying they cannot accept this version of Fit file.
All said, I hope these are easy software issues that can be addressed. I was not having any problems like this until the big update a few weeks ago. Thanks for attending my TED Talk.

I have the same issue today. My ride crashed after 48 mins (around 20-km) into the ride.
I noticed my power, cadence, speed, heart rate suddenly froze (grey font with zero values). I was riding with my mate with the same Karoo2 model, he's had NO ISSUES with his (so I assume it has nothing to do with GPS signal).
I turned the unit off and restarted. On start, it prompted to recover the old ride and saved into my rides log. I, then, started a new ride (another hour or so) with no issues whatsoever.
In the end, I can only retrieve ride 2 and upload (manually!!!) to Strava. Ride 1 was in the fit files but corrupted and couldn't be uploaded.
This is the 3rd time the unit froze in the middle of the ride. Twice before updating to the current version, and once today.
(P.S. Since I have my unit, it never uploaded to Strava automatically - I always had to pull the fit file and push it to Strava. Different issue altogether.)

Hey Ashton, thank you for bringing these issues to our attention.
I understand these must be extremely frustrating to deal with & our team will do our best to resolve them.
I've gone ahead to raise a ticket (#64457) for these issues & our team will be in touch shortly.
Thank you for understanding.

I'm having similar issues. On the past 3 rides, my Karoo 2 (with the latest updates) stopped recording, then attempted to recover the previous recoding and started a new recording. One time today, the unit shut off completely all by itself. It's pretty bad that it's doing things by itself, but what makes it worse is that I end up with my ride in multiple files. It would be great if rides did not "end" unless we tell the software that it's over.
