Excessive Battery drain with latest firmware
AnsweredSo normally I use about 18% battery per hour but after changing to light mode I used 42% battery over a 90 minute ride. Anyone else experiencing this!

I assume that you do not have the display set to 100% brightness.
I would suggest: make a clean start with a hard-reset.

Note after Hard-Reset: Login to your Hammerhead Account to restore your Routes and Activities automatically. Plus you will then have to download Offline Maps and pair your sensors again

For me it is also a lot more after the update. Even after a hard reset I am getting 20+%/hour vs the about 8%/hour I got before. I am using the light theme, but since this is an lcd display and not an old it should not require that much more battery since the whole backlight is on anyway.
Not at all acceptable, in this state I cannot use the unit for what I bought it for!

Sorry to see that you are facing a higher drain rate after the previous software update!
After conducting multiple internal tests & running the release with our Advance test group we did receive positive feedback that the battery performance of the Karoo 2 remains unchanged with the recent release.
The Karoo uses an LCD screen, Light mode or Dark mode would not change the battery drain rate as only the % of brightness would affect the energy consumption of the unit.
If you are experiencing higher than normal drain rates, you may log a ticket with support and one of our associates will look into it for you. Thanks!

I have been working with support over the battery drain issue and mine is now fixed. I went from using over 25% per hour to 18% per hour and now I'm at 9-10% per hour. The one thing that worked was they told me to create and new profile with the exact same fields that I had and to delete the old one. That is what worked for me. I hope this also helps others.
