Battery gone haywire after last FW update
AnsweredHi!
Obviously something went wrong with a recent FW update vis-a-vis the battery.
I did a tour the other day, the Karoo 2 had 35% at the start and shut down during a 2.5 hour ride.
Even worse - last night I wanted to fully charge the device, it was at 82% capacity.
I left it charging all night, and in the morning, it is at 69%!!
At the moment I have no confidence in the device whatsoever, as I dare not take it on "longer" (5-6 hour?) tours, not really long at all.
Using:
- Original dark theme
- No external sensors whatsoever
- Backlight @12%
Under these conditions the device should, according to the spec, deliver at least a solid 12 hours of riding time.
This is absolutely a reason to send the device back.
BTW - I also sent this bug-report by email, which I have been doing routinely. For the first time ever, I got no response whatsoever from the team. Not good!
Thanks.

Hey Mark,
Thank you for posting here & bringing this to our notice! We do apologize for not getting back to you sooner on the ticket, Our support team member Abhishek will be reaching back to you shortly.
In the meantime, it would be very helpful for Abhishek if you could share the FIT file of the ride where you had a very low battery Performance. We shall be sure to sort it out for you :)

Hey Akhil,
Thanks for answering. I am getting somewhat panicky! There is no FIT file of the ride "where I had very low battery performance", because as stated, the battery drained from 35% to nothing within 2 1/2 hours and the device shut itself down. Afterwards, I threw the ride away, not realizing that this was probably a FW problem and it might be useful.
In any case, as stated the device won't charge properly! As stated, I tried charging it overnight and it went from 82% capacity to 69% the next morning!
