Varia radar alert similar to navigation alert
AnsweredHi,
The navigation alert is only one note different from the varia radar alert. I recently rode on a road where there was a lot of traffic coming from behind, and I failed to notice I had to turn to the left.
Wouldn't it be nice if those melodies are more distinct?
Cheers,
Han

Hello all!
Thanks for the suggestion - due to the type of speaker in the Karoo 2 (more of a beeper/buzzer type), there are some limitations as far as only being tones, but different pitches or patterns could be a possibility. I will surely share that feedback with our Product team.
I can offer one thing that many find helpful - I do this with one BT earbud if I know I am going to be on a route with lots of noise. If you pair a Bluetooth speaker or headphones to your Karoo 2, not only will it be easier to hear because it's louder but you will also receive voice guidance for navigation cues - not just tones. Keep in mind that it will impact battery life slightly when using Bluetooth audio devices.

Go to "Settings" then scroll down to Bluetooth Volume. That will (and does!) control the Varia alert sound level but unfortunately not with a separate level to other sounds. I've requested an "All Clear" sound be added many times over the last 3 years but to no avail and I agree that individual level control for each audio source would be a huge improvement.

Unusable. Just used my Karoo 2 today for the first time with Navigation and Varia radio. Every time I hear an alert I need to check whether it is navigation or radar. Even though it is a simple buzzer, so on same tone can be generated, it must be very simple to make the buzzing completely different in the two cases. It is unusable now!
