data not visible on dasboard/app
CompletedWhile using the app or the online dashboard I cannot see my ride data on any on my completed rides. No speed, no cadence, No HR, no nothing. Only the map. I already know the route. I want to see my metrics. Is this only available to view in Strava? That seems crazy. Otherwise, my unit is an excellent place to store and share routes. If this is indeed the case then Hammerhead is behind its competitors and that would make no sense. However, I freely admit that I may have something set incorrectly. Problem is that I can't get any help from support.

Hi All,
The Hammerhead Dashboard now has a ride review option, this was released in the recent Software Update. We will continue to work on enhancing the ride review experience on the Dashboard.
Thank you for your interactive feedback and suggestions!

Alan,
As Benno says, you can only view distance, elevation, and time on the Hammerhead Dashboard. You will not see speed, cadence, HR, or anything like that in the Hammerhead Dashboard; it's very basic right now.
I'm guessing the app he is referring to is the Hammerhead Companion app for Android; I wouldn't know about this as I'm an iOS user and there is no companion app on iOS.
Services like Strava are better at displaying the metrics you mention in your post. If you haven't already, I suggest you connect your Strava account to your Hammerhead account in order to view more detailed analysis of your rides.
Because if it's not on Strava, it didn't happen! ;-)

Benno and Steve,
I hear what you are saying. However, for this pricepoint I expected more. Don't get me wrong, I think my Karoo2 is an awesome mapping tool but, I need it to be more than just for mapping. The companion apps for its primary competitors Garmin and Wahoo give far more data and to be honest...I was hoping this would be like the Roam but with super awesome mapping utility. In many cases its just that. However, I am given pause when I open the dashboard or the app and there is nothing there but my map. Conversely, when I open the ELEMNT app for the same ride (I was running both units simultaneously so that I could compare and contrast in real time) I get all of the data. ALL. Yes Strava is great for metrics but i can see no reason why the dashboard and app couldn't at least give the same amount of data that its competitors do. I'm getting close to my 45 day window and I am not sure whether I should stick it out and hope that this will evolve into what I need it to be or, if I should throw in the towel. This thing has so much potential. I know its a relatively new product and I understand that its very basic right now. But it seems to be a bit too basic in its current rollout. I would be so pleased if the app and dashboard did more than just tell me where I was riding.
I am appreciative of your responses. Thanks guys.

Benno - I agree that the navigation is great on the K2 but what I want to see at the very least the same things I see on the Garmin and Wahoo platforms...and then I want this awesome navigation improvement on top of this.
Tech wise this Karoo2 is definitely superior without a doubt. I am talking abut the simple matter of presenting data. for example: if you open the Elemnt app and click on a ride you can track and scroll through all of your data as it was recorded mile after mile and minute after minute. In fact the Elemnt app does a better job of pinpointing your momentary data than the Strava app. but sure... the Strava app is doing a whole lot more in the background by storing momentary performance data and linking that data with precise global locations. Now compare the HH K2 app. Nothing...and that's ok for now...its still in dev., right? But are these things coming? If not then I most certainly bought the wrong device.
Furthermore, Benno, you hit the nail right on the head! : I have to open Strava to see the data I am looking for. With other devices you don't have to do that. Yes, more of the data is in the unit itself but none of it is even on the dashboard. When I am reviewing my rides or planning out my progress stuff its at times like this when I am on my lunch at work and I don't have the head unit with me. Furthermore many employers block access to social platforms and Strava is classified as a social platform. So, lack of easy access to the data I need is an issue. Also, If I were to follow your logic I would only need to run the Strava and MapMyGPS apps on my phone during a ride. My phone would pick up my sensors so, why not, eh? But I don't want to do that and that's why we buy these cycling computers. Right? Also, are you with HH support or an end user like me? Because, as much as the HH homepage says they pride themselves on support I have seen none of it. My emails to support have gone unanswered but they were kind enough to send me a survey asking if I was happy with the support I had been given. I don't feel as frustrated more than I feel annoyed. This forum is by far the only conversation with anyone I have yet to have about my concerns. All said then why pay almost $400? Well, for one its a very flexible platform that has lots of potential. I can see this... but I will restate the words of Steve and say that this unit is very basic right now and although its very pretty I need more than pretty. If someone could tell me that my concerns would be addressed in future updates I'd be good with that. But again, I can reach no one in support. When I posted this thread I thought that I may have had a setting incorrect or something. The responses from within the community say that I didn't set anything wrong and that the dashboard does not (currently) have that functionality. Does this mean it won't have the functionality? Is it coming or will it remain the same? These are issues that need to be addressed. This is not about the approx. $350 that I spent because I was willing to spend a whole lot more on the Garmin 1030plus. It's about getting what I need. I respect the fact that you are cool with things as they are. Please respect the fact that I think it should be better and that we both know that it has the potential to be better. This is a coding issue and Not a hardware issue. So:
- Why is the dashboard so basic and are there plans to improve it with greater detail?
- Is the ONLY goal of the HH K2 unit to be an awesome mapping tool that makes sharing routes easier?
- What sorts of things can we expect in future platform updates?
I think that these are fair questions to ask of the developers of a new and expandable product line platform.

Benno, I don't think you get what I am saying and that's ok. People have preferences. You have yours. I have mine. I am glad that you love this device but so far I am left wanting. I am also happy that your experience with support has been good but mine has not. I didn't ask you for your advice but you gave it. The questions I posed were rhetorical in their nature for an end user like yourself and were actually directed at the developers that I hope monitor these community chat boards... and as for expecting me not to compare products in the marketplace? Well, that just without logic. You hate Garmin? What a strong word to use for a product that no one forces you to buy. I actually cited use of a Wahoo product in my comparison. My Wahoo Roam is good but the specter of a new product that might be better lured me to try the K2. The idea of a head unit with its own sim card blew my mind but so far has proved less than mind blowing. So far and I prefer the Wahoo but I don't hate this Hammerhead. I just find it lacking. "Lacking" as in: if all its going to do is display data on its face then there are far cheaper units out there. I have a few days to make my final decision and within those days I hope that someone from support will shoot me an email or something and answer the questions I have. Finally, I am glad that you like the unit the way it is. I do not...and because this unit changes every 2 weeks with the updates I want to know if it is worth it to hold onto this unit.

I am a fair guy and had complained that the HH support team had not responded to my requests. So in fairness I will state that apparently support did respond to my requests but placed these responses in my dashboard profile under "MY ACTIVITIES". Not the place I expected to see support request responses. Yet, there they were. I was looking for an email notification that never came. My apologies to the HH team.

I am sharing Alan's frustration! I just switched from a Sigma Sports ROX 12.0 to the Karoo 2 and was disappointed that the Hammerhead dashboard does only show map, distance and altitude. That's really poor! When reading through this conversation, I would assume that the Karoo 2 (as a device) is logging other metrics such as cadence heart rate or temperature during the ride anyway. So where is the problem to transfer these data points to the dashboard as well, so that I can revisit, for instance, my heart rate at any given point during a past ride?
That functionality in the dashboard is something I would consider as "hygiene factor" (which should be a given standard) and the developers at Hammerhead should better add that quickly to the Dashboard.

Same thoughts here as Alan and Tgmeiner. I also thought I missed a setting in the dashboard since clicking on my ride only showed me the route I rode and nothing else. Hopefully Hammerhead with guidance from SRAM can add more functionality with the dashboard, seems the competition in this space provides their own robust tracking of your data/metrics as it makes their product seem more complete. Yes I look at Strava for the complete details, but seems simple enough for this dashboard to include additional information for each ride.
