Feature Request - Track surface quality

Hi. This one is a bit out there but something I’ve often wondered about. Round me there is a real range of roads - lovely smooth lanes, rough as anything and ok but with massive pot holes. I’ve often wondered if you could crowd source this data using sensors in a phone or bike computer based on how much vibration you got on a road. You could then (after a time) see a red - green heat map of surface quality to help with routing. This information might even have value in itself - not a feature I’ve seen elsewhere. (Maybe because it’s very hard to implement, certainly an interesting data science problem!)

  This is something I have been thinking about aswell, but I don't think this niche feature would fit well into the Karoo software. But, as you can sideload any android app, I do think that it would be a great idea to write a small android app that could run in parallel to the Karoo main app and log this information. 

  Someone should do that. Maybe I should do that.

  Then again, why not just publish the accelerometer data in the fit file. You could just have a settings option to enable this, and whoever is interested in this could then analyze the data and do whatever with it. Would be a neat thing to have.
