Routes don't load - always saying preparing route

    Hi Neil, Thanks for agreeing. Could you also respond to us over the email on ticket so we can book the call with you? Also, please let us know there if you were using an indoor profile that by default turns off the location services for Turn by turn and Climber to work. Also, if the route was more than 500km long.

    I have the same problem. New device - navigation stack on "preparing route". Hill detection didn't work.
    I've switched from Garmin and now I think to throw karoo to trash and buy new Garmin :(
    Karoo 2 is like a hammer now. Useless.

    If you live somewhere with a bad gps signal  (such as in a flat) that might be causing the hammerhead to be stuck "preparing route". If that's the case just test by going outside and seeing if the route loads properly.

    Impossible. I just got back from the bike, I did over 30km. No problem with GPS coverage. The problem is the feature navigation or climbing. Nothing but follow route works. I've tried imported routes from komoot, strava... Even device-level routing. It always hangs on preparing route

    Okey, I've found a solution. Totally weird. Delete your map from the device and download it one more time. Now it works...

    Hi All, we have identified the root cause of the issue and have fixed it for the next update. This tends to happen if the imported route has free hand section at the start or the end of the route.

    I have this same issue still, importing from plotaroute. And I'm fully updated on a new unit.

    I have the same problems after three years out of nothing. Already received a ticket, but see that more people have the issue. Karoo is not loading proparly and stays on preparing your ride. Even after the latetst update.

    Here is the workaround I found.
    I downloaded the file, uploaded to https://dynamic.watch/users/sign_in and then downloaded the file from their site. I then uploaded to device and it works.
    Yes, it's a pain, but at least it works.

    Lawrence that's not a solution because to download new gpx from dynamic you need to have premium version which is additional cost. Karoo team any updates on a solution of that topic ?
    "has free hand section" - what do you mean by that ?

    It's now working for me downloading from plotaroute. Think the upgrade fixed it or perhaps just a matter of rebooting.
